I was driving the wagon Friday night and the "service engine soon" light came on. There was a advance Auto parts nearby so I stopped and had them run a scanner. The code was P1661 something called a MIL. Has anybody else had this issue? I'll fix it of course because the license plate will be up for renewal in June, and in NC,1996 and up vehicles are subject to emissions testing. Just need some ideas on where to look for the source.

The only acronym for MIL that I'm aware of is Malfunction Indicator Lamp which would be redundant for Service Engine Soon lamp unless the idiot light has it's own code. :hmmm:

Hello HillbillyHipster. I have a question You mentioned you found a bad wire for the Code P1661. Where was the bad wire? I would greatly appreciate your information. Was looking for some other things and did not realize my "Check Engine" light wasn't even coming on
