Can't beat 500 for a car. My wagon (1987 Caprice Estate) (2008)- $500 Dad's wagon (1966 Caprice) (1976) - $200 Mom's wagon (1977 LTD) (1989) - $400 Deals of the decades! It's kinda a good thing not most people find them as great as we do. Dad always told me that any running car is worth $500 and mine's kicking right over in these 10 degree temps!
My first was a 1995 Camaro V6, fully loaded, later on I "traded" it up for a 1996 Z28 Convertible, same color and all , still have that one as my daily driver actually. Cheers Dyna
My first car was in 1962 it was a 1951 Chevy 4 door, with 3 speed on the column.. had about 54,000 miles and ran good,,, like to never got the $150 together to buy it , then a year later traded the 51+ cash for a 56 Buick 2 dr sedan 322 cid, manual trans,, now I'm 200 cars later....:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
200 Cars later, I thik that's how a lotta y'all from my dad's generation have ended up haha. I'll be catchin up to y'all. 4 cars in 2 years is a good start!
You guys are kiss and tell guys! You should never talk about the first cars, cause the current ones go all kinky on ya! Oh, well, My first car was a 1956 356B Porsche rust bucket, that I eventually restored, but only drove for a week, until I sold her. While I was restoring her, I bought a 1960 Mini-Minor Cooper S for $10.00 and finally got my license at 18. And while I had both of them I had a Corvair Monza and a Greenbrier to tinker with. Finally dumped the Mini, because I could never be sure of the brakes, and drove the Monza for the first year in college (why I sold the Porsche). Took the Greenbrier down to Baton Rouge, LA for summer break in my first college year, with a 283 Chevy SBC and an Edelbrock adapter for the transverse rearend. Popped wheelies in the first 3 of 4 gears, after I shortened the wheelbase square with the width. Short and funny, but not a highway ride. Murphy's Law was alive and well, with every one of those first ones. If it could go wrong, it did! Now, I kept this down, cause I don't want my Squire to get upset. There's another 72 cars to talk about before her.
My first was a 1979 Buick Opel... loved that car, learned how to drive stick on it My Favorite by far is the car I own now.. my 07 Dodge Charger Daytona... in Sublime Green - only 1500 made in this color... I have #1365
What really hurts is I'm not counting the 2 Valiants that I leased. Both Broughams. Sweet cars. A new 1975 and a new 1976. My first wife got drunk and smashed the 1975, but we had full replacement insurance and got a new 1976. We divorced and she kept the car. Long, ugly story. We were married 14 months, and her brother was an attorney. He lost his license, my lawyer was a gentleman, but the judge ruled against her, and had her brother disbarred. No kids, just cash and furniture.
my first car was a peugeot 405 S. 3 of the 4 windows were broken and held with duck tape. the headlights were broken and we had to install running liughts from an off road vehicle for its last year. it was a manuel withought 2nd gear in the winter bc you couldnt change the transmission fluid because of the design and it had no radio and no ac and the heat only worked sitting still. my favorite car is the one i have now. 1984 oldsmobile custom cruiser. cant wait till its back to its prime!
The first car I had (when I turned 16) was a '66 Type III VW fastback. White with red interior. Ran beautifully! Blew that damn thing up at 70 mph when the oil light blinked ONCE and the engine let go! Blew a hole in the bottom of the case! I had owned about 15 cars and trucks before I ever got my license. Presently, I'm around 750 vehicles in total vehicle count since 1972. Over 85% were runners.
Hahaha, something's better than nothing, but that is pretty close to nothing! You're much better off with the custom cruser.
