What's up everyone?!! I go by the name " Nawlins-Tim". Born and raised in New Orleans . Been a car guy for as long as I could drive. I was out of the game for several years( not married no kikds ). Just didn't have the space of money to invest. I got the bug again cuz I needed a truck to help work on my mothers house and ended up getting a 1980 Camino. A person truly needs a second vehicle. And a HOT ROD Camino is twice as useful. Without rambling I got intrested in G-body wagons for their size and my camino had a buch of parts that would interchange with a Malibu Wagon. Low and behold I found a 1980 Malibu Wagon with 64k miles on the ticker, all origional and intact. Except for a new paint job. Doesn't leak a single drop of ANYTHING! knock on wood. I'm the third owner . The first owner was a old lady who's husband passed and got rid of the wagon to the other guy who saw it as a money maker . Payed 4000$ and plan to put a 500plus horsepower motor in it this year. I always wanted to be able to drive to the race track, which is at least 75miles from me. Make a 12 second pass and drive home. My wagon has a straight body and no rust on the frame that most g-body are plagued with. I plan to use it on the weekend for erands and cruise nights, just as i did in the Camino. That is my intro and I will be around admiring what you guys have.
Glad you found the forum Tim. Love the wagon and elkie. I had a '68 396 elkie back in 1972 for a couple of years and it was awesome. I'd love one like yours but........... Great intro by the way.
