Hello, Trying my hand at a forum for the first time.

I've joined sometime ago but when adding a second wagon realised that I've never posted anything.

I'm an Australian guy now living in London but now have two wagons sitting in storage in the U.S.A. Bought, I keep telling myself for road trips.

I've a 1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser and now also a 1974 Buick Estate wagon. The Buick was purchased recently sight unseen as I understand it doesn't require a smog test in California and should have some better acceleration than the Oldsmobile's 307. I'm also a sucker for the glide-away (clamshell tailgate) too. Still the Old's fold down tailgate is great for picnics.

I've been lucky to make 4 road trips so far in the Oldsmobile from coast to coast twice and up the West coast. The U.S.A. is a beautiful. So much walking in the Grand Canyon, The Redwoods, Yellowstone and more....

I only wish I could get over more frequently to enjoy it and drive more.

Now made redundant at work so might have to sell the wagons too :( but that won't stop me looking for and buying parts...

There both on You Tube if you're interested. I look forward to chatting to other wagon owners and hearing their stories. Cheers.

    Thanks!

Hello Dewey, Thanks for your welcome. I'm in California on Friday to take them out and see what I've bought... No doubt some issues... Where are you based?

I see you have a Plymouth? A Chrysler product? We had Chrysler back in Australia when I was a kid which was one of the big three - Holden (GM), Ford and Chrysler but they got taken over by Mitsubishi who in turn went bust and stopped local operations in Australia... sad how it all goes... Can you still find parts?

I am in Utah Fenn, my car is a 74 Plymouth Satellite 9 passenger custom, parts are pretty easy actually, unless it's a body part, only 3392 ever built and were all special order.

    Thank you!

Hi all, Sorry I haven't been here for a while to say thanks for your hellos.

Well since my last post here I've been made redundant from my job. A merger and a lot of politics. After 23 years of service... As a result I put the Buick up for sale before. I never had the opportunity to enjoy her but thought it best given the lack of a wage coming in. I had bought a lot of spare parts too so a bit of a mistake. I went over to L.A. to have a look and driver her. She's HUGE! Rather frightening to drive on a L.A. freeway.

I have decided to keep the Custom Cruiser for the time being as I've also bought a shed load of parts for her too over the years! She might not have the Clam Shell tail gate or the 455 but I know her and feel more comfortable driving her about...

Now to sell off body parts to pay for a 403 in place of the 307...
