    That's right, shovel.
Woke up the other day, and it was winter.

Yah he's storing my winter tires for me, so I'm going over there today to pick my wheels for the Chevy. Norm is good, making plenty of progress with the renos.

Oh yah. Well you just keep thinkin' it can't happen there Mike:evilsmile: Back in the late '90s when I lived there they called for the White Crap and got maybe 1 1/2"s. Have you ever seen what happens to Fly Overs with that stuff on 'um? Wife and I rented a room at the Holiday Inn facing the junction of Mopac and SR183:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:The entertainment lasted 'bout an hour before the DPW barracaded everything from one end of 183 to the other end including I-35 from Budda to Round Rock in both dirrections! We had ah H*** of ah time getting back to Oak Hill the next day but the room rental and bumper car entertainment was $ well spent:evilsmile:

Our old home town in Southern Alberta got a major domo dump again this weekend, then speaking with my brother today he said two days of wind has it piled up all over the place.

We don't miss that one bit. The snow as bad enough, the wind made it feel so much colder.

I like where we are now - we get a bit of snow through the winter, but mostly you get to see the snow on the mountains around us and we stay damp but not bad.

This cool damp is really affecting both the DW and I already this year. It has slowed the progress on the wagon down dramatically. We are so hopeful we can head south for a couple of the coldest/wettest months here. Won't know till mid Dec if we can go. In the meantime we'll probably have at least one small day long snow sighting on the driveway.

Oh yeah, on the few days we do get that stuff it's totally entertaining to watch the real-life bumper-cars around here. NOBODY has a clue how to drive on that stuff. They all just jam on their brakes and sliiiddddeeee.

Having spent time in CO you at least have the knowledge to avoid those bumper car antics. It seems that no matter how well we drive there is always some one else out there who has us in their target sights even if they don't realize it.:slap:

back in the early 90's I was watching a live CNN on the spot report on I75 outside atlanta where the troupers had just shut down the highway due to a "freak snow storm", this was around noon on the friday before march break. While the reporter was talking to the police officer you can see the barricade behind em. The cop was saying that Canadians were the biggest issue that day, they just don't seem to under stand that there is an inch of snow on the roads! at that point a white car pulled up to the barricade behind the reporter and cop, the guy gets out, moved the barricade, and shook his head laughing at the cop and reporter got in his car and drove on, the camera then zoomed in on the Ontario plate as the car drove south on I75! and the cop said "See another damn Canadian, they just don't get it!"
