Yes you have a problem and no everyone's yard doesn't look like that.

Very organized though, course it would have to be to get them all in there. Are the placed by date purchased? By year built or most likely to see the road again? ;)

Unfortunately, the best donors tend to be in better condition than the vehicle you are repairing (at least one would hope!) The better the condition, the better the donor. And since they ain't making these parts new, you can't save them all.

You need to fix your '66 and the perfect donor car to do that has fallen in your lap. I think the real question should be "what parts are you gong to have left over from the '68?"

IMHO find out from the fame guys which is cheaper/easier for them - swap frames or fix what you have. If it is swap frames get the one from the '68 under the 66 and just drop the 68 body on the 66 frame since whoever buys it is going to have to lift it to repair the frame anyway. Too often we try too hard to save everything and end up not getting our own cars done quickly.

As for the engine - I've used a combo of WD-40 and clean varsol, let sit for several days, then try to turn it over at the crank, working it but not too hard. Keep adding the mixture and the longest it has taken is a few weeks. One engine, a 454 from a 71 Chev, actually ran fine, did not smoke, was a conservative oil user, and ran fine for years. Others have used a bit of oil but no real burners. Make sure you spin it up first before actually starting it to get fresh oil through the system. After sitting long enough to seize up you can bet bearings and lifters are all going to be bone dry.

Rev, not only is there nothing wrong with the pic, there is EVERYTHING right! You have a fantastic collection of vintage Blue Oval's very best ideas. After all, Ford wasn't "The Wagon Master" for nothing! You just keep on with the collection. I truly envy you that bunch of wagons, and the place to keep them!

Rev cannot have a yard sale. The traffic jam it would cause on a major thoroughfare would be a major issue for the local gendarmes. He'd need an armored car to haul his take to the bank he'll end up owning. For those of us who have passed his place we can tell you that car buddies in the lower mainland of BC use it as a "marker" when someone asks which road they took to cross the border. They'll say, the truck crossing, you know, the one where the guy has all the neat wagons in his yard" :rofl2:

He is NOT a hoarder. I understand that eventually hoarders know when to stop :yahoo:

I think one day Tedy and I need to stop in and while one of us keeps Rev occupied the other can take pictures of the mans toys. It will only take a couple of hours and a terabyte of memory.

    Hey Rev,
If a 1970 grill will fit a 68, I've got one you can have. It is almost perfect. It came off the 70 country sedan that provided the 390 for the 54. It is the only part I kept cause it was so nice.
