I bought a tote of die cast etc off kijiji for $40!

Took what i wanted and sold 75 hot wheels etc for $15

50 micro machines for $25( are they rare too?)

There was approx 2-3 lbs of old school lego on the bottom.

So i put that on kijiji for $20 sold in 5 minutes ,by the time she picked it up the next day there were 5 more e-mails looking to buy it!

I'm money ahead and have 10-12 pieces for my collection with 2 doubles on kijiji for $40!

Don't throw out lego it's valuable!

Lego is popular, IMO it's one of the only brain food toys for kids...

I knew that some of the older pieces of Lego are quite rare. I have a pair of garage bases with self-opening overheat doors that are sized for Matchbox cars, and these have not been made in about 35 years. I have about 10 pounds of Lego blocks. Now all I need is someone to give them to!

You just never know. I didn't even know what a micromachine was until I bought the Country Squire one off eBay a few months ago for about $10! I like it, but I'm sure that I paid more than what it's worth. At least I have it now. :)

    um...

you can get 2-3 each for the micro machines on eBay...

if you have several to go together, I was looking at lots of 8-9-10 and they were going for like 10-15...

looks like you had about 90 in that one picture, $25 for 50 was a STEAL and you have a bunch of COOL ones in there, the light-up ones, the deluxe ones with opening doors and hoods, and the spy ones with the little windows on top you look in and see the interior, those are worth several times as much...I would think organized and sold in like quantities you could have made $200-$250 EASY on those.

First job will be finding it. The box is buried in the store room. I'll find it when I move, I guess. There are also about 6 of the Lego evergreen trees, and I don't know HOW many blocks. Several thousand, anyway. That includes both red and blue shingle blocks as well as the quarter circle yellow blocks, plus assorted sizes of windows and doors. There is also at least one of the big, 18X18 inch base sheets. I have no idea what any of it would be worth.

Legos are very expensive, ever see how much the sets go for now?
I used to sell vintage toys and Legos regularly on evilbay during the boom times/before garage sale and flea market people got computers and got smart.;)
The pickin's are getting real slim nowadays, and if you do find the stuff you're real lucky if they don't want evilbay prices. I did Micro Machines too but they weren't nearly as lucrative then, 1/32 and 1/25 slot cars and sets were the big bucks in car stuff, and original Redline Hot wheels of course. I still have a lot of MM's but they're mostly wagons... and they aren't for sale.:) The loose ones are good but older Lego sets are worth a ton of money, especially with the box and instructions, the best one is the Pirate ship. The sets have to be complete and in good condition to get the top buck. I spent a lot of fun Saturdays with my wife and kids assembling the sets to make sure they were complete, you could hardly walk in the house for all the sets on the floor.:)
I had a huge Lego boneyard with just about any block size and color and all the accessories. I sold the boneyard for over a grand when I got out of it.
My kids kept a lot of the sets of course, they have bins stacked to the ceiling in the basement full of them. Beware of Mega-Blocks being mixed in with the Legos if you buy them in bulk, they look almost exactly the same and aren't worth much if anything, Legos are all marked except for some of the accessories.

    I think you nailed it.

It's all kits now so blocks (plain old bright colored blocks) are hard to find.

Actually the bright coloured old-school blocks can be ordered by the case online. It is very expensive though. There are a LOT of people who stash the blocks away so that they have enough of what they need for projects they are working on. They're happy to pick the stuff up cheap when they can. There's actually a woman here in town who's made a small business of picking the stuff up at garage sales, etc, inventorying it and selling it online. I knew a guy in the area who was using Lego to lay out deck designs to display them to customers. In the geek community there are load of people making things out of Lego. Replicas of movie characters, vehicles, etc. Every year when I go to comic conventions there are several large Lego versions of Darth Vader, Hagrid, Boba Fett, Shrek, etc.
