Speakin' of ccccold, we're voting tomorrow in the Federal Government pageant, and it'll be 1 degree C (34F) in the morning, with a normal high of 12C (56F), but sunny. I'd rant about it, but the Forum doesn't deserve that.
Yes a friend and my self built the speaker enclosure . It's not as hard as it looks but it does take time . I bought the wagon less than 2 years ago. I drove it the first summer the way I got it and last winter 2 of my friend and my self did all the work . heres some pics of what it looked like when I got it
Wow! Now that looks cool. Looking at the before shots gives motivation to the rest of us that are just starting out in the hobby and our own restorations. Everything I have read says to document everything the best way you know how so when it comes time to put everything back together you have some reference. That's what I have done thus far. But getting back to your car I have seen those enclosures made on TV, but have never actually attempted to build one myself. I really haven't had the need too, yet. After high school the factory radio in the daily driver was suffice, but I do remember the late 80's and early 90's when "booming" was the thing to do. I still have most of that old music on my Ipod now.
When I took it apart I put every thing in bags and wrote where it went . Another good idea was one of my friends took pics of the wiring before we took any off. And let me tell you we look at those pics more than once. The lcd has a play station hooked up to it . Little kids love it I play the movie cars over and over . I have a old trunk I put at the back so they can sit on it . Some go away in tears because they just want to watch the movie
Ya know that is a great idea! When I get my wagon done and take it to a show I'll do just that to entertian my 6 and 2 year olds. (That's if they're not 18 and 22 by the time I'm done. LOL!!) If I have seen the movie Cars once, I've seen it a hundred times. They just love it! Last year I took them to the Autorama in Dallas and Tow-Mater was there. They really got a kick out of it. Post more pics when you get a chance. Did you have much rust?? I'm dealing with a lil bit now, but I'm just about done with the major stuff.
Hahaha, I work in the automotive/sporting goods/ and electronics departments at K-Mart and I see that Cars movie at least 4 times a nite. It's actually not that bad, there's a little historical context in there if you can look past the kiddie stuff.
Hello 57 poncho, beautiful wagon, just after I got my 57 I came across an original 57 Pontiac wagon that the owner had installed an aftermarket A/C system. He sold the car for 7500 and if I had had the funds I would have bought it(should have anyway). The guy who bought it redid the interior and painted the wagon. I don't know where my pictures are of it but if I find them I will post them on here. I also belong to the Canadian Poncho site, http://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/index.spark. Good day, Henry.
