Looks great! And nice job repurposing the exhaust tips - they shouldn't be laughing, they should be applauding your resourcefulness!
Thanks to all of y'all for the nice compliments and I am not sure who is having more fun either, my dad or me. I had to laugh when I hauled it yesterday on the car trailer to the muffler shop my dad backed it off the trailer with open headers so everyone there wanted to know what was under the hood. I reply "502" while my dad is standing there also and then they ask me "Who's is it? Yours or his?" I say "His." and they look at him and I say "See I told you you are too damn old to have that hot rod!See how everyone looks at you when I say it's yours!" He was not amused... My dad enjoys going to the casinos except on Wednesday it is senior's day and he says " I don't want to go with all them old people there!" I ask him "How much older you have to be before you are one of those old people?" I heard him mumble something like JackA$$
Got a state inspection sticker or as we call them here "Brake Tag" on 1tiredad's malibu. We now have 2 year stickers too They are pretty easy here as long as all lights and horn works! We are now 100% legal. Last night I went to the garage messin' around and found a button tucked on side of the seat so being, well me I wanted to see what it was for. My dad hooked the button up for the electric exhaust cut outs up and tried to hide it from me He came running out his house and shouted "I tried to hide it from you because I know you will have a ticket by next week with it!"
Wonder who's havin the most fun with that car? 1tireman or the old man. __________________ Well, this was the question I had asked earlier and basically got the same answers you said. BOTH OF YOU are havin fun. And that's really what's important. My dad was never a car guy. Guess it is me and the youngest son who are the car guys. I really miss him, moving out when we were so close together messing with our cars. Keep havin fun with your dad, and the entire family! I wouldn't go to AARP meetings with my wife because I didn't want to hang around with all those old people. Almost eighteen years now and we're among the oldest old people there. Damned!
That first drive down the block makes it all worth while after doing most of the work together. Something writing checks will never compare to.
Been pre ocupied I some how missed this thread. Congrats to you and your Dad....and don't touch 'the button"
1tiredad heatin' up the tires a little bit! I swear I could hear his heart thumpin' louder than the cam! The other picture was just a little launch on cold tires and it streached the suspension pretty good. I think on that set of tires, heated up good he may pull a tire!
