    Hello,

I am new here. I have been using my wagons for 8 years now for camping, family trips and as part time daily drivers and slowly upgrading them to work better at today's speeds. I have a '70 Satellite wagon that I am turning into a road runner wagon,

It has a 318 V8 with a 700R4 overdrive trans and a 3rd rear-facing seat. Gets around 18 mpg with 3.55 gears currently. My plans are to install a '55 331 hemi with aluminum heads & fuel injection into it eventually.
    I also have a '63 Nova wagon,

which has a straight six and 200-4r overdrive with new front mini-subframe suspension from CPP. This one gets 22 mpg without fuel injection :) My wife really likes them except for the lack of paint on the nova and lack of A/C on both. Another thing on the long list.

I also just purchased a '51 teardrop trailer that I want to use with my cars so I will be installing hitches on everything soon.

Glad to find a place dedicated to wagons. Most other forums look down their noses at the wagons, until they see them in person. :)

:Welcome: Powerflite, excellent intro, pics and all. (y) Love both your wagons, that Satelltie looks kinda beefy with those tires. :thumbs2: Big plans, we were just mentioning the other day that they(wagons) are never really finished, are they.
Glad you found us, hope to see you around the joint.

Great wagons! Both look very straight and solid. Welcome aboard. For your purposes, I would suggest a modern Hemi for the 70 Satellite conversion rather than the 1955 vintage Hemi. But I'm interested in seeing the results just the same. Is that side trim glued on or attached with clips? I was just thinking, two dust trail Road Runner side stripe kits would take the Road Runner stripes from the front fenders all the way to the tail lights.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. :)

The trim is attached with clips, but usually people who want the RR side stripe graft the side scoop on the rear door where it terminates like on this one:

I don't really care for that approach and I think the original trim mimmicks the side stripe to a large degree...so I plan to just leave it that way.

A newer hemi might be easier and give me a better fuel injection system....but I do like the look and the large stroke of the earlier motors. Hmmmm...
