I haven't been up there in about 16 years...just before I started my senior year of high school. That summer, I went up there with my dad and my sister. My dad went to pump some gas, and a gas-pump jockey raced out to stop him. Said gas-pump jockey is the one who informed us that self-service was prohibited by law in Oregon.

Of course, that information is pretty old. Maybe some Oregonians can chime in and say if that's still the case?

Wonderful that you quit when you found out you were expecting. My mom's never been a smoker, and my dad wouldn't even allow people to smoke in the house anymore after I was on the way.

Yup - no pumping your own gas in Oregon. I have no idea what the idea behind it was originally. When we came up here on vacation in 2008 I thought it was just a really friendly station I was at, so I tipped the attendant.... :rofl2:
