Hello, I´m new here. First : My English is verry bad !!! ( but I'll try it ). I'm Frank, 24 years old, My job : truckdriver, born in Germany, and I live in the Netherlands. I own A Lincoln Mark V 78, and a old volvo 740 RHD in USA style, + volvo 960 wagon. And this week, I have bought a Chevrolet Impala Wagon 1972 ( model 73 ).
Welcome Frank. Don't have to worry about your english. We understand you fine. We all speak 'wagon' here, anyway. Well, since you obviously like Lincoln Mk V's and wagons, I'll give you a little surprise....... Last I heard, this wagon was for sale. It's owned by a member here. From what i recall, there were a few of them built by some coach company. The 'wagon' parts are all Ford - from a mid-sized Ford LTDII platform, '77-'78 or so. More images at the link above - from our gallery. Feel free to join in with our discussions.... Marshall
Frank88, bet my German is worst then your English. Hope you enjoy the forums. Thanks for the pic and congartulations on your new baby.
Welcome, Frank. I guarantee your English is better than my German. Besides, as was mentioned above, we all speak wagon, and that is universal. Sort of like Esperonto. Nice looking Chev you have. She is a 73, though, for sure. The 72 had a different front end, without the protruding front bumper.
Thanks for the warm welcome !!! I'll post this week more photo's ( and if i can... litle movie's ) @Marshall, The station Mark V I have seen before. I like it a lot The Opera windows in my Mark V I have removed. Under the Vinyl was rust, I cut out the bad parts, and new sheet metal welded on. Now I must bring the bodyline's back in, and than I'll bring this car to the paintshop to paint the complete car.
Welcome Frank. I like your cars and the house in the background. The countryside looks beautiful as well.
hey Frank welcome from abroad,(he probably wont get that) I was just thinking, the cost of living (gas)must be terrible. In Canada or British Columbia we pay the most for gas in Canada today is 135.9 per litre or lets call it $5.00 per gallon. I figure I am getting about 10 miles per gal. from my 383 2bb so thats 5 bucks every 10 miles. To go for a nice cruise it costs more than my Sunfire used in 2 weeks. How much is gas in Holland? They say that back in the 30s gas took more than a third of your wages when you figure that a persons wages were small.I remember when they went metric in Canada about 1979 gas was about 45 cents a gallon and it became I think 19 cents a litre or more than 50 per gal.I could be wrong about those figures but yuo get the idea.It must be expensive for your luxury, and the roads in europe werent built for big american cars,we really shouldnt complain here compared to your price for a comfortable ride

Petrol in holland is very expensive to. 1 liter now costs 1.78 euros ( Shell, village price, no highway price ) On the highway you pay 0.10 eurocent more. Converted into the gallon : 1 gallon will costs 6,77 euro. 6,77 euro = 8,52 dollar ( for 1 gallon Petrol ). Buttttt... We have in europe ''LPG'' ( Liquefied Petroleum Gas ). LPG works the same as gasoline, only the cost to installation of the tank / and other stuff costs between 1500 and 2000 euros. LPG costs now 0,78 eurocent. 1 gallon LPG will costs 3,71 dollar So when you drive a lot miles, you save a lot of money. I have bought the Lincoln and the Chevrolet with already a LPG kit inside. And... those cars are older than 25 years, so you pay in Holland no road tax anymore, and the insurance are 78 euro for a whole year !!! So... I bought the car, and I pay only the 78 euro ( 98 dollar ) insurance, and I can drive 12.500 miles a year for that price. Only the liters / gallons Petrol or LPG I pay the rest of the year It is verry cheap to drive old Cars ( +25 years ) in Holland. It's only expensive if something is broken, it must be ordered from america That's the reason I can have 2 old americans and 2 large volvo's 1 volvo ( 740 ) is also older than 25 years, so its also cheap to have it. And the volvo 960 I have is from 1997, and thats expensive ( I'll sell this car now, because 4 cars at 24 years old is to mutch I hope you can read my pore English and can understand it
