Hi all. My name's Tom, I'm 17 and a proud owner of a 1987 Chevy Caprice Estate Wagon. I've always wanted a wagon of some sort, and this is my first and will not be my last. My first car was a 1960 Chevrolet, which I was t-boned in and lost. I then bought a 2003 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor and a 1958 Chevy Del Ray, which I am hot-rodding. Well, my neighbor's wagon went up for sale, which I have been admiring since he bought it when I was about 10 or so, went up for sale for $700. I went right over and offered him 450, and got it for 500. I plan on re-painting it and am looking for new wood, if anyone's got a good way to acquire some. The rest ain't so shabby. I sold the cop car to get my two cars done I have now, and am hoping to pick up some more land yachts. God bless all of ya, Tom
Welcome Tom! You should post a couple of pics so the guys can recommend the right sources. GM had different styles and colors. Check our local links thread at the bottom of the main site page. And the Woodgrain sub-thread under Cosmetic...
I've got a 'boat load' of pics, so I'll have to get them all out there. I'll make a point to check out those threads too. Thanks for the warm welcoming!
ahhh...the inspired voice of youth... hold it....he sounds like us old farts!! Tom...good to have ya
Are you possibly family of the Rev? Anyway, to the forum! It is nice to see some youngsters getting into these cars. And like Norman said, we surely like pictures!
and wow! I'm inpressed by the enthusiasm of youth. I though wagons were going, going, gone with us old folks. Now it seems they will live on.
I know, what you mean, even as a younger guy. All my buddies, who are truck guys (which I also like) give me a hard time about my old 'ghetto wagon' as they call it. I just laugh it off and keep on being happy driving my whale of a car. I've been nicknamed everything from Clark Griswold to Mr. Brady.
I'm having some trouble posting pics in the gallery. IT says my pics are too large, and I don't know how to fix that problem. If anyone would be kind enough to help me, I'd sure appreciate it.
Welcome to the forums Tom. Please take a look at this step by step on how to resize pictures http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307
Okay, I got her all set up and I will be putting lots of pics up in the nxt few days. God bless, Tom.
I've posted a few now, and will be posting more when I have a bit more time, but between work, school, and friends, my wagon hobby sometimes has to take the third row seat!! But anyways, they are listed in the member's gallery under caprice estate. God bless!
I only used the third row seat once, the car bottomed out in the Wal-Mart lot and busted the exhaust behind the muffler! I need new shocks all around!
