I've been involved with cars of all sorts since I was a kid. When I bought my first car, it was a '56 Chevy 2-dr wagon. After that I always had wagons, Chevelles, '55 and '57 Chevys, and a few Vista Cruisers. My all time favorite was the '67 Vista I had. Came from California so no rust, and it had no trim or fake wood on the sides. It was a light metallic green. Man I loved that car a alwys regretted selling it. Since then (1975) I've had hot rods and sport trucks. I just sold my '39 Ford coupe and decided to try to get back to my first love; station wagons. In particular, a '67 V.C. Wagon. So, I'll be checking the forums and posting a want ad in hopes someone may know of one for sale. Hope I can contribute to this forum in some waytoo. Once I find a car, I'm sure to have questions for you seasoned longroofers. Mike
Welcome. We're having quite a few members from Central and North FL joining. You all should have a mini meet.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm up for a mini-meet but hope I can find a car first. I still love hot rods but definately ready for a change from that.
to the wagon train, willys. Glad you found us. Hang around...I'm sure a wagon will pop up here that you may like.
Thanks Silverfox! Guess I had to get all that hot rod stuff out of my system before I came back to Wagonland. I'm anxious to find my Vista Cruiser. I know it's out there, just don't know where just yet. lol
I too left the wagon seen for a while but came back with my favorite car.a 66 monaco and I too had maqny wagons.I am goiung to the lake for a long shoremans picnic and camp out (actually a trailer with air out) and my daughter is a photographer and she is doing a photo shoot of my car so I cant wait to show it off.Any how welcome to the club and I will keep my eyes open in western Canada for your cruiser. How much you willing to pay and do you want a project car or a driver?
Seems like quite a few folks have found their way back to station wagons. Sounds like you have a pretty nice trip planned. It should be a lot of fun. Thanks for the welcome. I'd like to find a decent 67 Vista Cruiser to start with. I'm tired of projects but the cost is part of the equation. My plans are for a 5.3 and 4L60. I'm really tired of dealing with carburetors and I'm sure this crappy gas is here to stay. I don't have a $ amount in mind but am going to make this a budget car.
willys33 Good luck with your station wagon search. I heard there are a few wagon owners on here living somewhere in Florida. Also believe there are station wagons up for sale now and then around the south. You can have your hotrod and still have a wagon. Just depends what you classify as a rod. You and the mermaids keep enjoying Florida and looking for the wagon of your dreams.
Yep, I've always been a fan of wagons. Even the ones I don't want to own, I seem to like them all. Even weird ones like Crosleys and Pacers. Must be a sickness.
Thanks. I just replied to your PM. I classify rods as a hole you through money into. Sort of like boats, but cars can be used more often. ha ha I still have an '02 Chevy truck for now. Once I find my wagon and get it where I want, I'll sell the truck and the wagon will be my only car and daily driver.
