I recently inherited some old cars/trucks. I don't live around there anymore so I'm not sure what to do with them. I don't know if they have a selling for fixing up value or even what some of them are. I only have these pictures and am trying to decide what to do with them. There are a couple of station wagons in there and I'm interested in finding out what they are, but the pictures aren't all that great.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

wow you lnheritted an auto wrecker yard. I assume thats what it was.there is a multitude of parts, but I didnt really see any driveables. Grass has a very negative element on steel so thats a problem.some nice models there though it looks like they have been there for some time, where in this world are they?

It might help if you told us where the yard is or where you are.
I'm not likely to drive to Minnesota to pick up a door handle.

Funny Minnesota is mentioned, it's actually North Dakota.

None of them are driveable. My grandpa and dad sort of collected cars.

Lots of interesting cars, but unless the 69 Road Runner and 68 GTX turn out to be Hemi cars, then none look complete enough or valuable enough to restore. Its a gold mine of parts cars though if you had the ability to part them out and sell the parts off on e-bay.

    I noticed 59,60, 62, 64, 65, 66, 70 and 71-75 Chevy Impalas or Bel Airs,
several Toyota Corollas, what i think is a late 60's Datsun 510 wagon and a Suburu wagon from the mid 70's, a 57 Ford pickup, at least a couple 50's Studebaker pickups, a 70-71 Chrysler, a mid 70's Chevy pickup or two, a late 70's Jeep Cherokee, a 68 Pontiac Catalina coupe, a 67 Fairlane coupe, a 69 Dodge Polara wagon, a 69-71 Plymouth Fury wagon, 67-72 Chevy and GMC pickups, a 67-68 Olds 98, 68 Dodge Monaco, a 75 Dodge Monaco, 61,65, 69, and 71 Ford Galaxies, a 62 Galaxie convertible, 60-61 Mercury Comet sedan and 63 Comet coupe, 60-62 Falcon, 69 Pontiac Catalina, 64 Ford Fairlane wagon, 68-70 International pickup, 65 Pontiac Grand Prix, 68 Olds Cutlass coupe, 60 Buick Invicta, 64-65 Pontiac Tempest wagon, 69 Plymouth Road Runner, 68 Plymouth GTX, 68 Plymouth Satellite sedan, 58 Chevy wagon, 71-72 Olds 88, 69 Olds 88, 69-70 Mercury Montery or Marquis, 70's Buick Electra, 70's Ford Maverick and Pinto, mid 70's Ford Elite, 59-60 Rambler, 71 Olds 88 coupe, VW Squareback, 61 Mercury Monterey, and a Renault Caravelle convertible with the removable hardtop.

What a collection! It looks like a lot of them have a lot of very hard to find pieces on them, that's for sure. Most, if not all, are in the parts car class, even by my odd standards, but you are you have some really interesting cars there. It would be an interesting project to go through there, figure out which ones can be saved, and move them to better storage and which ones are strictly for parts and get them stripped down before what is left gets ruined by the elements. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like you may have a lot of hard to find pieces of glass in there, too, and I would bet that a lot of it is original. If that is in good shape, it is well worth the effort to salvage, as some of those windows are extremely difficult to get. The rear window on the 65 Grand Prix is one example. Not an easy piece to find should someone need that for another car. Mind you, that 65 does look like it may be worth some effort to save. Not many of them around at all.

That is a collection, some really hard to find parts etc. Sorry to hear about some ones passing though.

Touph call as what to do with them, we know where they are but where are you? Your distance between the cars sadly could be the deciding factor about them. Is the land they are on being sold and or do you have to deal with them ASAP? I'm sure you could sell some and parts off of others but if you can't be there..... everyone buying would want a honest discription and you don't want any ol lookey loo going to see them, thats how things get pillaged.

    Good luck with your decition.

I'm not even in the US right now so it's not possible for me to do anything. The land isn't being sold or anything right now, I just wanted to see if I could make a few extra bucks. I'm not going to fix any of them up unfortunately... I don't have the time/money/resources to do that.

I've seen 'collections' like this be put up for auction (and I don't mean an 'on-line' auction) - sort of like a farm auction. You would have to contract with an auction company, give photos and details on each vehicle, tell whether they have a title or not, etc........ Wouldn't get as much money as selling them individually, but overall much less hassle. That's probably how I would handle it.

:Welcome:and good luck with the cars and parts. I'm not positive. I may be wrong. I was wrong once before. But these pictures are marked as two years old so a lot of changes may have taken place.
As Krash Kadillak wrote the auction route may be the best way to go.
Thanks for giving members and other car guys a chance to save some of these vehicles.
