to replace a rear left window motor on a 1994 Buick road master estate wagon, we are having a difficult time & hubby wants 2 do it himself:confused:. What tools do we need? we already have to new motor. please help if you can. thanks!! if there are any step by step places I can look at on the web feel free to direct me. This video shows the basics of removing a door panel (not your specific vehicle but same principles) If you have not removed a door panel this is a good start. Hopefully a member has a parts or shop manual for your vehicle and can scan a view of the motor assembled in the door to give an idea of what to expect next. You will need a small socket set and long sleeves. The edges of the inner door panel are sharp and space is limited. __________________

$50?.... Ahhhh, Ummmm... ????..... I really dout a shop will do it for $50, and if they were going too, this is most likely there tool of choice....
thanks, he finally got it off, but the dog on thing is fastened by rivits/ribbits? lol anyway we may seriously mess something up.. 50$ no way not around here....
Rivets will have to be drilled out and replaced with the appropriate sized bolts. Standard repair/replacement procedure. It's not that hard, have at it.
Yep, it's much simpler than it appears. I've done it a couple of times and was surprised at how easy it was. Window motors are pretty cheap. You can do this easily. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Those rivets hold the regulator mechanism to the door. The motor itself should be bolted to the regulator. Failing the factory manuals, either the Haynes or Chilton's manuals will have the detailed instructions for the job. Once the door panel is off, the job should be straight forward.
I've replaced electric motors for windows and those rivets are usually 1/4". Once you drill them out, they can be replaced with 1/4" bolts.
