You're killing me. A '96 SS is still on my Dream Car list.

Maybe we should start a new thread entitled...way for it...

Who will finish there project first?

Fannie's wagon resto? Two years and counting!

Dewey's interior? About 4 months and counting!

Silver's new PC? Still in the boxes since Nov '11!

Or Deans '96 SS? 10 years and counting!

    :D

I was misleading, I guess. My car was finished those 10 years ago. I mean I dunno if anything is ever finished, but I was done with whatever dreams I had for it.

Repaint, 383, aluminum heads and all the neat stuff that goes with it. Trans, rear end and 3.73s etc etc.

I guess I had planned to put a super charger on it, the engine was even set up and built for that purpose, I just ended up getting hurt at work, so i didn't make the $ I used to. Then gas got so expensive on top of that. Having other cars that are more practical, I reserved it for nice weather and special occasions.

I just don't go anywhere. I don't do special occasions. It just sits, moss on the taillight. I am disgusted with myself.

    Sorry for the hijack.

You shouldn't feel that way about yourself, at least you got it done. :thumbs2:

SO the deal on the 2010 Impala fell through, which does not really break me up, it was a basic boring car, and I sold Misty's Grand Prix, so she's taken my Ram and I'm driving the Cutlass...with no a/c.. Have to find her a new car fast.

Budget is $13K. Here’s an oddball that was suggested on a Malibu forum….look at a 2006-2009 Saturn Aura XR’s (look them up, only the XR, not the XE, with the 252hp engine…sister car of the Malibu LTZ but since Saturn croaked these are cheap now). On the Saturn, look up the Morocco Brown Leather interior package….it’s WILD. Would fit will my my dead-GM division theme, with my Pontiac GTO and Olds Cutlass.

    Misty likes these:
http://austin.craigslist.org/ctd/3153806018.html - Local car, great price and miles

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ctd/3150350627.html - Check out the Morocco-Brown interior on this one.

I’m also looking for (what I personally really want) a 2004-07 Grand Prix GTP (5.3 V8 300hp). I’d like a car with around 50Kmiles or less. I can get to $13 on the Saturn with those miles, but all the hot Grand Prix’s in my budget have over 50K miles.

Check this one out: http://houston.craigslist.org/ctd/3170210089.html - This is as close to the miles that I want that I’m finding.

I was also looking at newer Impala SS’s and Malibu’s but all seem to be out of my budget.

And no….I can’t talk her into a 94-96 Impala SS….I DID try. I even brought up the (….wait for it…) Mercury Marauder…but she thinks those are too big.

I really don’t like new cars….but if anyone has suggestions, toss them out!
    On the hunt!

    -Mike

Not as wide as some you are looking at, but if you get the 2LT model, you get the larger 2.4 engine, sport suspension, leather, moonroof, etc. Rides pretty nice! One more thing - do not buy one without the running boards. They save you from getting a lot of rock chips on the rear doors.
