Thanks for the pic's Rev, I like all the Non-Nomad 5/6/7 two door 210 wagons!!!! I was begining to think they didn'd sell Nomads in Canada.
And $4000.00 for a stock 77 Astre wagon, WOW, it must be a gorgous survivor!!!! You don't see many resale red Astre's anymore. Most of the ones that survived were old man Brown (like my 78 Sunbird Safari) or Biege or green. And the one in the pic looks to be a base model car, no roof rack or rear window air deflector, base wheels & hub caps, no bumper rub strips or guards.
I am always happy to see anouther H-body wagon!!!! And a Pontiac is just a Bonus!!!!

You always seem to be at the right place, at the right time. That's a heck of a score! Did you get the special fasteners too?

    sportwagon66,

Of course there are a few Astre's still around, but not nearly as many as Vega's, Most of them are now V-8 conversions, or drag cars. Hear is a shot of my 77 Astre Formula launching under the awesome power of the 2.5 Iron Duke!!!!! With the 2.92 gears & automatic, she ran a embarassing 20.4 in the 1/4 mile. It has a terrible red Earl Shiebe Paint Job, over what is suposed to be a sliver Formula. I don't know where or how I am going to get the graphics redone on this car!!!

The other shot is of me being awarded the Runner up trophy for bracket 2, 14.00 & Slower. The 78 Sunbird wagon (the wagon body style was the only Vega/Astre body style made in 78-79, and they were rebadged as Monza & Sunbird wagons.) With the 231 V-6 she was running 15.05 before the converter gave up in August.

Just to show I am not only a wagon nut, but any odd ball Pontiac as well!!!!

I do remember seeing a formula astre back in the 70's and wondered about them, They must be rare as I've never seen another, the one I remember had side and rear window louvers, if I remember correctly

Nice to see one still around and putting down some crazy numbers at the track

Thanks for the pointer, it looks to be a real Formula in RED!!!!! I have only seen them in the other 3 colors they were available in, 4 white, 2 silver, and 1 yellow one.
It has most of the mandatory options, 3 piece rear spoiler, formula steering wheel (and pwr steering & tilt wheel, both required with the formula wheel). Sport mirrors, but they should be flat black, blacked out grills, headlight buckets, & tail light panel, but the side glass bright work should also be blacked out. It has the rally rims with the crome trim on the slots, that was only found on Formula Astre's or Sunbirds. I can't tell if it has the blacked out center caps on the wheels. It also has the rally gauges. But it has the base model interior, all the other Formula's I've seen had the Delux interior. But it looks like you could get it that way. And of course the crome valve cover for the Iron Duke & Formula 2.5 air cleaner cover.
