I'm in northern New Brunswick and I'm looking for a home for our family's 1971 Kingswood Wagon. It has been in storage for about 10 years with the hopes of restoring it (after it failed the yearly inspection for the frame), now time has run out and we need someone else to take it over, otherwise it will have to go to the scrap dealer. If anyone is interested in buying it to restore or use for parts for another Kingswood, please reply as soon as possible.
to the wagon train, Suzanne. I am assuming your car has a rusted out frame? If so, it may not be a good candidate for a resto. However, it may have many good parts that some of our wagon family here may be interested enough in to buy your car. The only way I can think of to make that a possibility, though, is if you post as many pix as possible of the inside and outside of your car and give us an idea of the price you want.
Hi Suzanne Actually there are a few members that are close to her. A few here in the Maritimes and a few in Ontario and Quebec. So maybe someone may find this car desirable. Are you willing to part out the car or are you wanting to sell it as a whole? Either way as Silverfox mentioned pictures will be needed. Do you know any more about the cars history?
I'm afraid to post as I live in NB and my driveway is getting full... but hello from "near" Saint John. Do you have photos of the wagon?
Thanks for the warm welcome! This wagon was purchased new by my parents in 1970, and it has never been in an accident. My father was keen about undercoating, but there were still some panel repairs that had to be done over the years. I think it even has a stainless steel exhaust pipe. I have several files on other repairs done, so I can post more info later. I'm including a few pictures here from 2010, a bit dusty and worn, but still a beautiful shape (I always admired the stream-lined shape). There is a dent and scratch at the front now, but that was from being moved around in the storage barn.
I can't believe I'm asking - but... how much? Keep in mind I paid $1,700 for a Country Squire that almost looks new and everything works I would hate to see that car go to a scrapyard... mind you restoring it for me would be a long-term project. What engine is in it and has it been started lately? Other than the frame, what other issues would you consider major? e.g. holes in the floor? transmission dead? etc... Like I said, just 'wondering' Just don't send it out for scrap... yet
It sure looks Restorable or will be a good Parts Car at least. Definitely worth saving either way. Bill
It's nice when you learn something new never knew they made a Chevy Kingswood we have our Holden Kingswood over here
