Don't meen to be rude Rob but you'd better check prices on any 45 year old-new front glass before you say that's pricey. Looks like a pretty good deal to me and I squeeze ah nickle 'til the buffalo bellowz 'n startz snortin'(y) Check Pilkington Glass.com on the south side of Columbus, Oh. to see what their price is on a re-pop. I think they'll have it, Jer

BigbarneyCars I totally understand and do not take your comment as rude. I agree that everything is going to be pricey. If I had disposable income right now I would snatch it up in a heart beat. I need to put my money towards getting it running at least before I start getting the lipstick and makeup!!!!

Did you have any problems getting the rear doors open?

Yes I did. After removing the interior door panels I sprayed the mechanisms with PB Blaster, I then proceeded to kick the inside of the door with one foot while pushing the door handle up with the other foot. I am not sure if it was the weather stripping that had a hold of the doors or the rusted mechanism or a combination of the two. The rear passenger still needs a real good tug to open and I have to use the inside handle - outside will not push in. the front doors do not want to budge at all - the drivers mechanism is pretty rusted and the handle inside will not work the mechanism when I pull it up. The passenger front door is locked and havent been able to free it up yet.

Thanks for the info. I can't tell if it is the locking mech or the weather stripping. I guess I need to try to get the panel off before I do anything.

Sometimes you need to nail parts with WD-40 or PB Blaster for a few days before things will start moving. Especially if they've been crusty for awhile. Try to free things up too soon and you can end up breaking them. However, that being said.. I'm no good at following my own advice.. I'm not very good at waiting either... ha! :disagree:

Rob, 73 Super, and anyone else the needs to loosen stuff up. A 50%X50% blend of ATF and Acitone seems to have better penetrating qualities then most any thing else on the market. Put the blend in one of those katsup squeeze bottles and shake each time before using!(It does seperate) Jer ... goez without saying but...HOLD YER FINGER OVER THE TIP WHILE SHAKING

Rob, if you want to buy a parts car, I think you should buy a 1965 Chrysler wagon. Because from other wagons like a Plymouth, you can only use the windows and maybe some other parts.

I did notice however that I must have gotten a little water in the dipstick tube when I pressure washed the engine bay - when I pulled it earlier today it was a tad bit cloudy. I remmebr pulling it when i first picked the car uo and it was clean as new. i will need to get that oil drained out and replaced.........if only there were 25 hours in the day..............

Rob, I read this entire thread and only noticed on your last post that we're neighbors. I'm in Collierville. Have you been to any of the big Thursday night cruises in Bartlett? I usually go in the Grand National but I occasionally bring the wagon.
