so i was looking through some of my pictures on my 'puter today and stumbled upon a few pictures of a monte dedicated to the singer Aaliyah. For those of you who dont know who aaliyah is, she was and R&B singer in the 90's and into the 2000's, on august 25, 2001, she died in a tragic plane crash. well back on topic the whole point of this thread is not a game or anything its to share pictures or stories (or both) of cars that are devoted to one person, object, or theme! so lets have some fun, and hear some great stories!
It's amazing the detail people put into these paintings. I've seen a lot of them but don't have photos handy.
Love the classic tiny welded chain steering wheel. I wonder if you can still get those? The Love Machine ('64 Chevy) from Cheech and Chongs 'Up in Smoke'
No, for those with enlarged bellys from drinkin to many adult beverages . And their girlfriends with silicon implants.
I can appreciate and admire the talent involved, but I do have to say ....WHY? To spend all that $ on anyone who is/was famous and go all out like that is almost creepy to me. Was this your girlfriend, love of your life, or just a creepy fan club member who's bedroom is also covered with her pictures? A few years back there was a Dale Earnhart painted up car in town, one day I responded to a sales ad and me and a budy went to look at can't remeber what inside the house. After talking with the seller outside BS'n about his car we went inside to look at the item, it was freeken creepy, he had a masive creepy shrine dedicated to Dale.....candles and all, it was creepy, we left.....Yeah, he lived alone......... And they call us creepy because of station wagons........
now, the candles are where it gets creepy for me, were they regular lit candles? or were they dale earnhardt themed candles? because since dale was a racing guy, i can understand a man cave having a dale earnhardt theme. i can also understand a car devoted to him, especially if it a monte or a GN (the kind of cars her drove) now, IMO that would be a car show cruiser tho, a car dedicated to someone like that shouldnt be a DD, IMO. but ya, some of them do become creepy, but i guess some people become too big of fans!!
A candle is a candle IMO when it's lit.... When my bud and I drove up we chucled because there is the #3 car, it was a bubble 4 door GM but who cares as we all have seen online or in person tribute paint jobs on beaters. Out side of the house looked OK, went inside and it looked like a bachelor pad, some empty beer cans, needs a vacume, some garbage etc in the living room, then the dinning room...WTF!?!? Spotless clean, toys, mugs, etc all over the table in pefect order, all the walls completly covered in every picture, magazine article clipping etc you could imagine. The dinning cabinet had a poster size pic of Dale under a lite with burning candles around it. DUDE!!!...it was silence of the lambs F****** CREEEEPY!!!!...It rubs the lotion on for Dale, or it gets the hose, creepy. Just using the phraze.... I have acidently walked into a gun fite armed with only a knife by myself a few times in my life, but I was glad that time I went with a friend! Even rattled my bud who is a brick sh** house. I know it may not be correct to sterio type, but I see things like this Monte Carlo and wonder.............
I looked at it again and realized the passenger side door handle was broken. I think that would be something you'd want to replace after putting that much work into something.
If I bought that car the first thing I would do on the way home is buy a couple gallons of marine grade paint remover !
