You already know what I am thinking :) The 52 is a decent price ($3500.00) I looks like it has a 4 link, etc. It is out of my budget with the station build. I will just keep on looking, something savable will come my way. Slow & steady wins the race.

Fannie, I loved the show and am doing the same thing with KAPY, a true community radio station with local news/weather/content. Some locals have already asked to put their mother's art n the interior walls, coffee will be hot by 6:00 AM each day, it is destined to become the "Coffee Club" here in Duncan, AZ.
Now, the inside does NOT look nearly as nice as the outside, but I got a great deal on the lease ($1.00 per month) so I will make it work!

I think your onto something. A nearby town has started their own station with all the local buzz that your speaking of and it has taken off. Let us know if you have trouble with the rent, maybe we can pass the hat and help you out. ;)

I paid 3 years in advance :biglaugh: I am actually a transplant here from Washington State. (tired of the rain)The locals are so excited about having their OWN station with local content, HS sports, births/deaths/why the siren went off at 2:00 AM, lol. I already have my news/weather girl and sports guy (both born and raised here. This is going to be fun!

It all sounds kinda humorous but everyone likes to know what's going on around their town. And your right...where was that siren going at 2:00am well just tune into KAPY for the details...inquiring minds want to know.
    Good luck.

I did a talk radio show back in the early 70's from my Cincinatti office. I love radio! I thought of doing what you are doing many times. I envy you...I really do.:D

Cool, I bet that must of been fun! The locals have all kinds of content for the talk show (Valley Views)
So there is a filing window coming up this year (LPFM) 100 watts. Give me a zip code and I will see what is available. $15K MAX to be on the air and you get 3 years to build from the date the construction permit is granted.
    I love my job!

Snohomish, still have my place on the river. I plan on spending 8-9 months in AZ and going home for the summers.

Sorry, JPT  I have a limited vocabulary and that consists of full words, it's just the time I grow up in...we spelled(or tried) everything. I have no idea what "TY Fannie" means...something nice right??? :)

Interesting that you should ask about that, fannie. My ad agency had offices around the country so that took me many places. Anyway, the radio station that we did the remote from was the station that the show WKRP was fashioned after. It was a crazy station and we had tons of fun with my show. Leo Underhill was the main talk show guy there and he was funny and crazy. So was the lady that owned and ran the station. The station was WNOP across the river in Newport, Kentucky. Our show was a hit in Cincy and later they did the WKRP take off of the WNOP station. True story.:yup:

I would take you up on that, Guy, but the sun is setting over the tower and, more importantly, I used to have "the voice" but it has failed me now. I really do love radio...hey, I grew up with it! I remember laying on the floor in front of the old upright Zenith and listening to "The Lone Ranger", "Let's Pretend", "The Shadow" etc, etc, etc! And all day, when I was a little kid, my mom would do her housework listening to the soaps. "Stella Dallas", "Dr. Christian", "Ma Perkins" etc. I even remember the shows SPONSORS. "Ma Perkins was sponsored by Oxydol, etc. Remember suds your duds with Super Suds? The lone Ranger was sponsored by Cheerios and Sky King was sponsored by Ralston. I could go on....but maybe this is why I still love radio. I wish I was going to be around awhile longer...I would love to have a station. If I still had the voice I would be happy to just have a talk show again. I was asked to do one in Madison years ago but I was too busy with my business. I can appreciate what you are doing and I know you will have fun with it. I wish you well!:thumbs2:
