I gave the Colony Park a good pressure washing and cleaned/vacuumed/polished the interior. Looking sharp now!

Well, it was mother's day, and the wifey-mobile '03 Explorer was looking and feeling a bit neglected, so I gave her the once-over (the Explorer, not the wifey). wiped down the interior, including the jambs, vacuumed the carpets, wiped off the engine compartment, washed it top to bottom, then Armor-All'd the grey moldings and tires. Got the wifey seal of approval.

Jairus: Finding a good radiator the right size for the 58 shouldn't be all that difficult, should it? There, and what size, are the top and bottom rad hoses, and what size is the rad? I'm presuming it is an automatic, so you need the transission cooling line connections as well. If o9ther Ford rads are anything to go by, they should be available NEW, not recored, with a lifetime warranty, from one of our local parts companies in Canada for about $250 - 300. That is for the heavy duty 3 core that I run the the Thunderbird as well as one my brother ran in his Colony Park.

    • Attached front bumper
    • Attached grill (however..while attaching grill I put a hole in the radiator with the tail end of a ratchet.. sigh.. so now I need to get radiator fixed)
    • Made seat mounts for front and rear seats
    • Attached roof rack (bought off of Ebay).. I just don't think a wagon is a wagon without a rack.
    • Attached all emblems

Actually, with the rising prices on brass, copper and solder... the total is getting closer to $400 for new or re-coring. I've been looking...

Gotta wrecking yard here that repairs radiators at pretty reasonable prices.. so I'll just have it repaired.

Drumroll please as yesterday's wagon work was highly technical.

I repainted the windshield wiper arms satin black as all the paint had been blasted away over the last 20 years. :1st:

I just called Canadian Tire. The 3 core radiator for an 89 Grand Marquis, which would be about the same size as the 58 takes, is $359, brand new with a life time warranty in the copper and brass. The one with the plastic tanks is $189.

    The '58.. painting continues

Got most of the painting done.. still a lot of detail work to do with the painted on molding, airbrushing graphics, then will need to sand down paint and put a clear coat on it.. but that won't happen before the reveal party June 2nd. :whew:

Thanks. Nothing transforms a project more than paint. It's my favorite part of a project.

Nice Job 73. That is going to be awesome. It really inspires us that have little time and are currently frustrated just working on the stinking wiring issues!!!!!!!!!

Oh don't down play wiring issues. They are the biggest pain for me. Nothing worse than someone who has done a hack job on a car you're now working on. Sometimes it's easier to pull the works and start over again. I'm amazed at the PILES of wiring I've pulled from old projects. Good luck! :banghead3:
