Found this on ebay last week and just had to go for it. Another great made-in-Japan tin toy from the 1960s. It has a friction motor and no signs of any wear. This basically is a brand new 45+ year old toy that even came with the box. Normally I don't care whether I have the box or not(I collect toys not boxes) but it always fascinates me when a toy survives this long without getting played with, that never happened at my house!

Thanks, I've been collecting for awhile. I keep saying that I'm not going to get anymore because I've run out of room, but...

I hadn't either. I got a sedan 'airport limousine' version about 10 years ago but haven't seen any other versions. There are probably more because those toy companies usually put out as many different versions as they could.

Yes they are easier to park and insure, but not as fun to drive.

Agreed! Other good points to consider-
the tires don't go flat when you park them for the winter
the seats don't explode from the sun beating on them
they don't leak oils and other fluids that the tree huggers deem to be the cause of the demise of mankind
you never have to winterize them
    they are relatively low maintenance
they never need a tow truck when something goes bad
you can park them and not have some disrespectful moron park right beside you and slam their car door into them causing pain and damage
they almost never need to be repainted
they never refuse to start - because you already know that they can not and will not do so
when you buy a new one, it's easy to hide it from your wife
your kids enjoy them and get enthusiastic when you bring a new one home ( sometimes too enthusiastic )
The cost of them is usually affordable
Barrett Jackson can't drive the prices out of your reach with their hype and media focus
you can be a car junky without anyone outside your home realizing that you have this addiction
if you get tired of them and decide to dispose of them all, they easily fit into a dumpster as opposed to paying some guy with a tow truck to haul them away
Nobody points fingers at you and demands to know if they are all drained of fluids
    - need I go on? There are a lot of good points about toys and I have collected a few and enjoy them very much. Yeah, you can't drive them but you can still enjoy them.:yup:

yeah, those Matchbox Kingsize models are cool, I have a couple but not that one. They also made that ambulance in red but I guess that one is harder to find. Matchbox also made a Mercury wagon and a Dodge wagon in that size in different colors. You may want to keep an eye out for those.
