It was a small block 406 (with all the good parts 4340 crank SS rods Brodix heads JE pistons solid roller cam Victor jr high port Chuck Gullege 750) and 700 r4 with 3.23 gears. When it was in the wagon it was making 414 hp and 440 tq. I actually bought the Electra to put the motor in. It was my work car and I put about 1k miles a week on it and even with the big motor it averaged a little over 18mpg. Also I didn't lighten it at all and had all accessories working. with me in it it weighed in at 4770 lbs. I also ran on some Goodyear 26x8 slicks. After I broke the rear in the wagon I pulled it and put it in a 85 Regal. Here is a pic of some souvenirs I got with the two Buicks.
Ancient 1....nice set up. Then.... There's this....... That wagon belongs to Steve Morris, it runs 7's... Wanna buy one of these engines........check out the prices....starting at $59,900.00!!! http://www.stevemorrisengines.com/engines/complete-engines/bbc/2200-hp-bbc-the-wagon-engine
I don't have the slips here, they are at my friend's house...left them in his motor home rig. I THINK it was 96. You were way up there at 108...would take a lot more power to run that speed at 14.5.
Just for the fun of it I did a zero to sixty in my AMC Eagle awhile back. Took 15 seconds just to get it there! I can't even imagine how slow it would run the 1/4! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPbk-LZY-wE
14.70's is impressive to me in a 5000lbs wagon. I will be happy to squeeze that out of my wagon when I finish it. It has been a few years since I participated at the track but remember my car was a whole lot faster in my mind and after I ran it everyone I knew swore thier car was faster than that...After that experience I became a little more realistic about E/T's and HP with cars.
Appears like when we head to Utah to build that custom interior in dewey's wagon we're all gonna have to stop in Wisconsin to do some minor work on foxy's wagon too. We'll swap that rear end for some 4:11's or lower and get rid of all that unnecessary weight inside, like those extra seats, stereo, AC, and other crap. Maybe add a roll bar and a lawn chair for the bucker seat. I know the feeling of the high geared rear. My 55 feels like it's chained to a tree when I mash the gas! But I'll bet you guys all had fun and that's what counts. You trailered it?
It's all math, Tman. I am guessing at the HP and I was within 2 tenths of what I thought it would run at. However...you always think it will be more....the track makes a believer out of you.
