    Dad would bring it up when I pulled some stunt that he wouldn't have done - couldn't be his genes, kind of stuff. Dropping my pet-snake's old skin in my kid-sister's bed, bringing a snapping turtle home from the swamp on the end of a belt - kids' stuff. :biglaugh:

    That's not an area I would have ever broached with my father. He was a faithful, hard-working man. Working in one of the more affluent areas of Los Angeles (actually putting the milk inside the fridge for most customers), he may have had some opportunities, but I don't think he would have acted on them.

    So was my dad. He worked three jobs some times. A full and two part time jobs. He was a Deputy Sheriff for many years on top of running a manufacturing company. He left the manufacturing place in the mid-1960s to go work for Chrysler. They worked him 7 days a week on 3rd shift so he had to quit the Sheriff's department. Only time he ever took off was vacation. He would go to work sick because he was devoted to his job. He eventually got on 1st shift with Mopar. In the mid-90s they told him either take early retirement or loose half your benefits. He then went to a placed called Dayton Steel and ran it for several years. Till they found out my oldest sister had luekemia.

    Also, as an aside, that kind of comment about who your father is kind of dishonors your mother, don't you think?

    First and foremost it was only a joke. To tease my dad. Nothing was really ment by it.

    We only hijack other people's threads cause we have no life. We figure we can live through them.

    Hey - why not start a Hi-jack thread?
    The rules - If your reply to the original post has ANYTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH IT, you fail.

    Also - Sorry I was getting a little testy with my prior post here. I knew you guys didn't mean anything by your comments. Must have had a bad day.....

    So the rules to this thread would be "You have to hijack the thread fropm whatever the original subject was?"

    I think I can handle that?
    (y) :D

    RJ, the main traits and quality of a Hi-jacker is:

    1) A sense of humor
    2) A knack at turning words on their heads, upside-down, reverse - something like a demolition derby.
    3) And a brain that grasps ideas "Out-of-the-blue". LaBatt's Blue Ale, for instance? Like reading tea-leaves. :rofl2:

    To differentiate, we have two other types of thread-jacking: :rofl2:
    1) The Mass-debator
    2) Master-Baitor

    In the first case, you need a point of view, contrasting with the authour's, and a few other guys agreeing or disagreeing. Then you can see who to practice on and bait, which tests your metal for the second level - Mastery!:bouncy:

    Aren't you glad you came to the right nut house? :rofl:

    Honey! Where are my dementia pills? :29:

    Oh I had a feeling when I first joined and you guys started making fun of me I was in the right place. Okay so I own a lot of cars. I've been car psycho for many years now. (beyond nuts)
    :biglaugh:

    Some web forums get TOO caught up in themselves. Too many rules and pretty soon the web site get's stale.

    No this and no that.

    Most the web forum sites I belong to not once have I ever got in any trouble. For some reason I got a warning from the moderators on Monte Carlo Forum a couple of times?
    :slap::biglaugh:

    I guess these people don't like looking at females? They weren't nekked or anything. But they didn't have much on either in the way of clothing. And I posted a pic or two of them on the web site.

    How was me posting these pics related to cars or Monte Carlos in any way? Beats me? I was going along with the hijacked thread.

    You bring up a good point, and I don't know if there's any way around it. I'm not a prude or anal about this but it gets touchy, so allow me to make an a$$ of myself.

    Bare with me, as it were. :evilsmile::biglaugh:

    Station Wagons exist for families, right? So how come we don't have more female members? I think we have one or two, maybe three. Our site isn't that techy. Most of us are acting respectfully (except me on thread-jacking and the odd, rare blurt on the SWMBO (duly deserved, I might add. :biglaugh:) but we aren't acting like women don't or can't contribute some insight to the hobby.

    Go into a Recipe forum, and some guy with a new twist on an old dish, is downright welcome. Everybody is focussed on the main theme, food.

    Here we are with this big grocery-getters and powered up baby-strollers :biglaugh:, and no gals actively involved? Some come in, peak around and rarely come back. Are we boring?

    Go to the HAMB (Hokey A$$ Message Board), and there's lots of gals, maybe some are biker-chicks, but they know their stuff, and bring new skills and insights to the picture. Are we not techy enough?

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php

    And here, some of us grind that our SWMBOS nag us about "another project!", but we get it into the hobby for many reasons, from a good investment, to a personal challenge, to saving bucks, to good old memories. Those are all things that women relate to. And we are very respectful of women here, so help me out of my conundrum. Why don't we have more gals?

    Should we throw up a Macho Secret Sauce Recipe section, so that we get the Search slurpers to get us into google or yahoo engines? :evilsmile::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

    My Mexican wife, has more hot Salsa sauces and tortilla recipes than I can count. We have a 5-drawer file cabinet FULL! AND a bookcase full of desert binders and books. Heck we could show instructions on how to use a hub-cap for a mixing-bowl at a road-side park! ;) Or use a paint-mixer when the coffee-grinder gives up the ghost!!! :rofl2:

    RJ, I've got it! We'll get our wagonmaster to set up a special section called:

    * Roadkill Recipes! How to cook your spuds on the Rad, and fish on the manifolds! Not too appealing until you're hungry.

    * Roadside toilet tours, tips and tricks? No eh!

    * Cookin' on the tailgate?

    * Chef Boy Hardie?

    * Chuck at the olde wagon? Not upchuck, though!

    Seriously, we need some feature to get them here and offer ideas.

    On other boards, some gals come to get tips on maintaining and repairing their cars (Yahoo Fairmont Users) "Who's Usin' Who?" hmmm. Too many social obstacles, methinketh. Oh well, Gals, you're more than welcome to stay.

    Also I have posted a picture or 2 of women here but they have clothing on like short shorts tube top or bikini top.We have one female member here by the name angie1313 new member she has posted about 10 times here,hopefully she will post more here and join in our nutty family.
    I think they can and will be a huge benefit to us and have great ideas or short cuts that we might not have thought about.
