Hi, all, Jeff Miller, here, in Pittsburgh, PA. Been driving Saab 900's for a very long time, my latest just became a parts car, and I impulsively bought a 1975 Datsun 280z. It's a fantastic car, but I'm in major station wagon withdrawal. I'm slowly restoring a '70 GTO, and the move to a vintage wagon kind of came through that thread for me. So I hopped onto this forum, looking for a driver wagon. Gonna sell the Z if anyone is interested in such things. A friend of mine said 'you could park the Z in the back of one of those wagons.'
Welcome, Jeff! I'm sure there are forum members who will help you find a new ride. I use this site to search Craigslist nationally: http://www.allofcraigs.com/ Happy hunting!
JMT - appreciate the counsel. Yes, over my 48 years, I learned that one the hard way. My GTO I had to buy rusty, 'cause rust-free Goats are way above my budget. But I can afford a clean vintage wagon. Could you do me a favor, and message RickyRodder re: his '64 Buick http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17305 ask him to e-mail me at jeffreymiller64@hotmail.com? I just tried to reply, and am not allowed, yet, guessing it's a new member thing.
to the wagon train, Jeff. I love thos 64 Buick wags! First thing I would do with this one is put in the bucket seats and console if I could find a set! Good luck in your search and we're glad you found us.
Welcome Jeff! You're gonna trade Withdrawal of Wagonitis. That's an Upgrade, man! I drove through PA once with my folks back in the 70s, and I remember this LOOONG junkyard on the Skuykhill Expressway. About 5 miles of drooling material. We went down to Florida, hunting for engine parts for a Chrysler 300 - 392 Hemi, and found them in Mississippi. Heck of a site that PA junkyard. Good luck with the hunt. Here's a teaser site of US car brochures to turn your imagination crank! http://www.lov2xlr8.no/broch1.html Main site: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/index.html
FYI, y'all, Ricky's got a Trade Pending on his '64 Buick (not mine, unfortunately). But, hey, I know how to pick 'em. Knew that car wouldn't last a minute. I showed my wife pics of it, she said 'that's way out there, Jerry...it looks like it should be in a movie.' I said 'yeah, MY movie...it's what's on the runway in Paris, I'm fashion forward.' The good news is she lets me do what I want, at least as far as cars go.
Datsun 280z...had a boy friend when I was in high school had a 240z...almost killed me in it...rolled it a couple of times. When I came to I thought he was dead, he wasn't so I killed him... Your friend is right you could park one in the back of a wagon...well the older ones anyway. Good luck with your wagon hunt and selling the Datsun. Have you voted on Shawn's wagon yet? here's a link... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17428 Jeff
