Looks like this replica was up for sale a while ago. Since it's already sold, I'm just posting pics/info here for posterity. http://www.cars-on-line.com/41293.html
There's a wagon collector in Milwaukee. He bought this wagon from an old guy in Kentucky...low miles...brought it back to Milwaukee to join his other 12 wagons. Then he decided to do the take off on the pace car theme and do the number on the wheels. Later, since he had 5 80's Buick wagons, he decided to sell this one. I went and looked at it....nice car. Very well kept and zero rust. But, I like the Electra wagons and this is a LeSabre so I passed. My buddy that was with me almost bought it...came very close to going back to get it. It was sold later and the guy that bought it joined up here and then only posted a few times. After that we saw the wagon up for sale again.
Lots of pics out in the WWW on this one. Personally, as far as outside looks - Yea! on the rolling stock, No on everything else......
Buick regal was the pace car that i'm sure was a wagon fan building from the factory graphics. I like it!
You just gave me a lot of ideas, TXWag! If I had bought this wagon I could have taken a lot of pix of different angles and had someone Photoshop it into other scenes. Like put it on the track leading the race in place of the real pace car of that year etc. That would have been fun!
Sometimes the wagons or sedans with the pace car decals usually have a light bar too, so that would need to be added in
This may have been one of a few crew vehicles for track officials or a hotel shuttle for the race. I think it's kinda cool for a billboard and something completely unique. What color is the interior and is it leather or cloth?
