Got a 72 Town&Country...any other 69-73 T&C Owners out there? See my pics: I just bought a nice 72 9 passenger green/green from the same owner since 1974. Has some prior bodywork coming through.....wood is good........interior is fantastic......only 70K documented miles......I have some questions for others who know about these land yachts.... 1. what is the RR Lock switch for on the dash? 2. should the rear glass go up/down with the key in the lock? 3. Does anyone have pics of theirs with wide rear tires? 4. Anybody have a parts car from this era...I may need some small items to fix a door handle and the rear window motor......thanks... john in wv john6769@yahoo.com
Cruise in here John. most of us have our cars listed. Largebarge72 and AZ-something are big Mopar fans: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/memberlist.php Also, you might want to check this site, since most big Mopar models share parts with Imperials: http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/index.htm Main site page with all kinds of great info and links: http://www.imperialclub.com/index.htm
Welcome 69 T&C owner here, your's looks fantastic!! Mine is a project that is getting done as the money allows. Not sure of RR, but one switch would be rear window, another is the map light. Yes the key in the rear door should raise and lower the window. I'm running 235's so not really wide. Murrys in Ohio for parts. www.cbodydrydock is another great site devoted to Chryslers large fleet. Here's a pic of mine. MPJ
Congrats on the wagon! I have at least 2 answers for you. RR Lock is for the electric unlock for your tailgate. In my 72 Satellite, you can only unlockit while its running through this lock, and only while you hold it. (Saftey feature so kids can't jump out while the cars running.) RR stands for ReaR And yes, the key should probably roll the window up and down, it does on mine.
Just saw your post John..and answered your email. As stated..yes, the switches on the dash are to unlock the tailgate and put the window down. The key for you will be parts. I am lucky enough here in AZ to have the largest classic-car salvage yard in the world at my finger tips; Desert Valley Auto Parts (DVAP). The have a few wagons in there..but most of the parts I get are from other C-Body cars in the 69-73 range. Pretty much anything from an Imperial to a 300/Polara/Newport/NewYorker etc...will fit the car. It just depends on what you need. Interior trim parts are hardest to find in good condition. As far as tires..Im running a 215/60 as I wanted that lower profile look. However, I did see a Plymouth Wagon the other day with 315/30/17's in the back and 245/35/17s in the front and they fit/looked awesome.
