This is how the email reads: I just saw your wanted advert and I'm writing to know if you are still interested in the purchase as I have got items that you will need. Let me know if you are still in the market for the wanted advert. What's your phone number? Note: Call - +44(0)7024067342 Michael Lewis 47 Lytham Road, Blackpool FY4 1RF United Kingdom This seems like a scam email for the following reasons: out of country -- no offense to our continental friends, but shipping long roofs and their parts is typically done in a very unilateral direction (mostly west to east -- US to Europe) not the other way around. No specific reference to the items i am looking for. no reply on the message boards. Consider yourself warned. Scamming off CL ads is common. I've seen sellers have to resort to putting an advisory in the ad saying to the effect "If you're replying to this ad, put '74 Ford Wagon' in your 'subject' box, so I know you arn't a scammer...." I usually prefer to just put my phone# in and no have them reply to the CL address....

I got a scam email to a ad that posted for my 77 CrewCab Dodge.They sent the same exact email once a week 3 weeks in a row Even after we messaged them that the truck was sold
well, i just put our chaps address into google maps and it looks like he lives in a boarded up pet shop in black poole england. have a look for yourself....nice little town.
Seen that one in the U.K. a few times before, watch out for the Russian site too. When you see pics of your car for sale by somebody in the U.K. watch out too. My GTO has been for sale a few times over there. When I was looking for a Vista Cruiser and posted wanted ads on a few sites the scammers came out of the woodwork. Most said they were in Florida and their English was very bad, may have all been the same guy. When a guy in Florida says he has the car there and sends you pics of a snow covered car sitting in a driveway surrounded by cars with New Jersey plates you start to get suspicious. I played the game and said I was flying down to check it out and he said I could only get the address where it was located and see it after I sent him a thousand dollar security deposit.

Within the past two months I have received three different names of guys in england saying they had parts I needed and asking money sent to Western Union. Undoubtedly the same guy each time. They are lurking on here everytime someone seeks parts.
