Hello everyone, I just purchased a 1972 Ford Gran Torino Squire this past weekend. Will be needing some woodgrain advice. Thanks and this looks like a great site!
Thanks for the welcome. I have 3 other Torinos, but always wanted a wagon like the one that my family had when I was growing up. This one is an original owner that special ordered it from Ford back in '72. All documentation, window sticker, and a huge pile of receipts. It runs like new, interior is great except carpet, body is straight and clean with small rust issues typical of the model, but by far not too bad. Same color combo as our old wagon. It has a 429/4V, C6 automatic, Traction Lok rear, power seats, windows, locks, steering and brakes. Lots of options, cold A/C. Will post some pics and start working on it this coming weekend!
Welcome! I think a lot of us have some cars that we long for that don't have a huge following, but I think a '72 Torino wagon is a great looking ride! Congrats on your new acquisition! Arvid Svendsen
Unloved Ford? Not here... Hey! I got the movie. You bring the popcorn... Welcome aboard. Clint would be proud.
Welcome, Unloved.... Your wagon sure won't be - around here at least. Sounds like that's one rare wagon. Of course we want all kinds of pics on it, but I'll bet there's an interesting story behind its creation and your acquisition of it. Check out out 'woodgrain' subsection under 'Cosmetic & Restoration'... Marshall
Hey I like your Choice in Usernames But I really Bid to differ about the 72 being unloved Try finding anouther 1965 Fairlane Wagon
Sorry it has taken so long, but you know how life goes, LOL. Pictures of the Wagon attached. I have now installed larger rear tires, but not sure about the size yet (might be too large). It drives well, but I'm going to revamp the suspension to make it handle better. Installing new dual exhaust this weekend with Flowmaster 40's. Tuning it up, replacing all rubber components, and pulling the front clip to detail the engine bay before the Ford meet in Bristol June 29th.
