Found your forum while looking at cars on Bring a trailer.com, I consider myself a wagonmaster at heart, always liked them since i was a kid... First one I owned was a 77 Datsun 710 when my son was a baby, now he's 30 and dad is still playing with wagons.... I eventually got into Volvo cars and have lost count of all the 2,7 and 940 series sedans and wagons i've owned over the years, I just love the dependable work horse service these cars provide, I prefer the turbo 740 and 940 wagons, i'm currently driving a black 1989 760 turbo wagon with 229k miles on her, sold my previous 92 740 turbo wagon with 250k to a neighbor who also owns a 91 740t wagon i sold him that now has 300k, as I say they are pretty sturdy cars that can also double as a pickup truck at times. Read a few postings in the intro furum and noted that you guys like to see pics, will try to fit a few in this posting, I have actually owned all these car plus countless others.......... Tom
Welcome aboard, tomwas1. Friends of mine had a red turbo back in the mid-90's...awesome car! I certainly understand why you like them.
A few more pics for your viewing pleasure.... I love to show off my babies past and present....... i'm also a Datsun/Nissan ZX nut, currently on #16 of that breed; and occasionally tinker wth a BMW, have had 5 of them, I always say life's too short , ya gotta have some fun while your here...... Sorry, slipped in a sedan by mistake, been meaning to get some new glasses....
As you can see those basket weave rims of mine get around a bit, got them off a 240 sedan I had years ago and they've been with me since then on whetever i'm driving at the time....
Hi Tom, welcome to the forum! Some friends had a 87 240 wagon they finally donated after putting 750,000 mi on it (they tend to get it all out of their vehicles, lol). Sweedish steel rocks!
Had to make a 7 hour round trip today to pick up supplies for work and drove the bosses leased Lincoln Navigator, think I would have rather done the trip in my old Volvo, more comfy and familiar, satellite radio was nice though........
