I have line on a 72 International Travellall and am wondering if anyone on here is familiar with them. I'm old enough to remember theses when they were news and kinda always liked them. This one is an unmolested original with the woodgrain package, 392 V8 and factory A/C. and that is all I know at this point. Its stored in a garage and apparently hasn't run for 10 years and I'd be getting it through a friends parents Estate as no one in the family is interested in it. Does anyone make parts for these as I realize there probably wasn't a lot of these made. Any info would be appreciated as well as average values for it.

Our fine member Patrick80 has a very nice '71 Travelall, similar to yours. Hopefully he'll chime in here.....

I know that diesel conversions are very popular on these.

Many of the parts are still available.www.binderplanet.com has a wealth of information. A good supplier of parts is www.ihonlynorth.com and has a forum. Michael Mayben of IH Only North is a great guy and knows his stuff.

I love the Travelalls! You are a lucky guy to have found such a nice one. When I was a kid, my best friend's dad bought one, a '72 or 3 in baby blue with a deep red brocade cloth interior! What a great vehicle it was. David :)

I worked at an I-H dealer the summer of 1973 and remember driving these. They seemed huge inside! I remember them being fairly simple; not too many frills. They are rugged, but you have to be careful about rust. Rust-proofing wasn't very advanced at that time.

    Odd you should ask

I had a 72 TravelAll way back in the late 70s and early 80s.Was a 4wd with the 345 and a automatic trans.Best offroader I have ever owned.
Mine was a rustbucket but the frame was solid so I kept it for about
4 years. All the bearings are easy to find and pretty much all the engine
parts are copies of something ford, chevy and chrysler built. If this truck isnt rusted out, quickly POR15 everything.Had a friend with the 392 and it was a little more powerful but used a lot of gas no matter how easy you drove it.My 345 delivered 10mpg all the time and was a blast to drive
anywhere.Oddball parts are ownly available from specialty junkyards
    and the Harvestor owners group.

Thanks for the feedbacks. As I said its from an Estate and it could be a while before I get pics, if I get them. I am going on a trip this coming July and will stop and see it then. It was in Central Illinois since new and I was told there is some rust but it does have under 100,000 miles. What intrigued me about it was the 392, wood grain package and the factory A/C and the fact that it is unmolested. There hasn't been any pricing mentioned yet but the seller is more concerned with an enthusiast getting it than someone who will just use and destroy it.

If the price is right, I'd get it. Can always get it running with basic mechanical stuff. Just curious, is it two or four wheel drive (not sure if they even offered 4X4) Some of these non- Big 3 rigs can be a little intimidating because there is an implied lack of parts and what-not. I have found however there are usually large, almost cult followings for these type of vehicles. The owner/enthusiasts are feircly loyal, help each other out and have almost a chip on their shoulder because it isn't a "Chivy or FORD" I think you'll be just fine if you decide to purchase it.

Its 2 wheel drive and was set up for towing so its probably a beast.. My friend sent me an email tonight saying he remembers it had 3 rows of seats and they didnt need the 3rd one so they put it in a garage but the garage caught fire and the seat burnt but he says the frame may stiill be around. He also said he has been going through old photos trying to find pics of it so he scan and send them to me. I found this one on EvilBay but think the owners is quite a bit high in his price and as of this writing there are no bids.
