Hi guys was wondering if anyone out there has a 80-90 caprice diesel or a caprice with a battery mounted to the drivers side of the engine compartment. I have an 84 caprice estate and i would like to put in a second battery on the driver side. i know the diesel version has twin batteries. and i would like to know if the battery tray is the same or if it different for that side of the car.
answered my own question... if you want duel batteries in a 77-90 caprice the part number for the battery tray is 25502903. thanks:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
I gotta tell yah that's the first time I've seen someone post a question, have the question answered, with the part number and be ecstatic about the findings all with in 2 hrs and by the same person. Glad we could help...anytime, just ask.
Thanks! I have been looking for the part number for about two weeks. I post the question, and then just happen to stumble upon the part on ebay. Go figure... Now besides a salvage yard and ebay because there are two on ebay and they are 140 and 150. Anyone know a cheaper place to get one?
To one of the many personalities that live inside your head... Go to a junk yard, and find one. Lot cheaper than eBay...
Boating/Marine supply store. Universal trays run anywhere from $5 to $25. Find your battery group size and its footprint and go to town. Then drill holes as appropriate to make it fit the factory bolt hole locations. Done.
Since it's the same for both sides, I'd just get one from the junkyard. Should be no problem finding one and they would probably want next to nothing for it.
well gonna call chevy find out if i can buy new. on gm parts they price a new one for 22.00, gonna try that first.
