THe Douglasses First, I'm really from Detroit, so "eh" is pretty common, being across the river from Windsor. Second, my wife really is off the boat from Hungary, so that's pretty close to having my own Mrs. Douglass. I suppose I could change my avater to Eddie Albert, but I was christened Eb 20 years ago by Kentuckians. THird, what is the simplest, least spam-producing method of setting up a photo bucket, or is there a way to e mail my pics to this website? It was not too clear in the Faqs. Fourth, thanks for the welcomes and motorvations.
Funny, I know a Haney family down here. If Eustace Haney was peddlin' car parts, they'd be for Chevies......this is pretty much Bowtie country. ALso funny is that my wife really is Hungarian (right off the boat, no less). I could change my avatar to Eddie ALbert, but I was given the moniker Eb 20 years ago by these Kentuckians, so.... What is the quickest, least spam encouraging web site to use for photo sharing? Or, can I e mail my pics to this website somehow? Was not clear in the faqs. I truly thank you all for the motorvations.
Wish I could help on the picture situation. I just hit and miss and barely figure it out sometimes. There is a post section to read how to do it and some members who may be able to walk you thru it. As for those kentuckeites, you have to respect them if you live among them in the blue grass. I was given the moniker Eb 20 years ago by these Kentuckians Maybe you look or talk like Eb. Some CB people used to say I sounded like Festus on Gunsmoke, dadburn it, Mr Dillon!
Good lookin unit, Ebster! Appears to be a '270' - the DE-LUXE model. I lurk over on 'For A-Bodies Only' forum, where member Jim 68Cuda also frequents. Used to own a '65 Dart sedan way back in the late 60's - my 4th ever vehicle. Had the slant 6 rebuilt in it. What's the wagon like right now, and what are your plans for it down the road? Marshall
It looks like the body is in good shape! Everyone here will enjoy your progress reports, so be sure to share.
Welcome aboard Eb. So Eddie Albert is out of the picture and you got the Hungarian wife. Always wondered if that would have happened had the show lasted another few years. As I recall, Mr. Haney probably wouldn't be the best deal in town for what you need (probably because he knew he was the only deal in town). Best wishes for getting the Dart back on the road in time for the spring car show season and for the best time for hauling you're camping gear. I bought my first wagon (a straight rust free $300.00 blue 1964 Ford Country Sedan wagon specifically for hauling canoes. At the time, in the mid 80's, I only had convertibles, so the wagon was a perfect car for getting the canoes to the Shenandoah River. I bought a new pickup in '88 and have had trucks ever since, but came here a couple years ago cause I missed having an old wagon. Is yours, or will it be, a six or V-8 under the hood?
Plans down the road are to use it daily during summers. Camping, but also gardening (yeah, just like the real Eb). Yes, 270.....225 with dual exh, ported standard head, auto trans. Electroninc ign and electric fan would be nice. I'll have to see if I can get parts cheaper in Pixley than dealing with Haney. I can't recall why that show "jumped the shark". At least they didn't make LIsa get pregnant. That often seems to nix shows (think Get Smart). 74 Ford Green....Mavericks? In fact, one of the rotating thumbnails at the top of this reply pg. has a mid 70's LTD wagon with wood and a similar green. THe same? The white roof is a cool touch, eh? Don't know it Dodge was doing that in '64. THe odd thing is that I bought this to replace a 65 300 non letter that was in vastly better shape. I'd like to have both.
Ebster, My buddy has a 64 Dart 4 dr 273 factory 4spd that would go great with your ride if he'd only part with it.
