Absolutely stunning Taurus wagon. Welcome to the forum. You've done an outstanding job on the long roof. I agree with everybody else when they say no wonder you've won so many awards. Congratulations.
Ever think of throwing the SHO engine in there?

As a gsm in a Ford dealer back then, I never could understand why they wouldn't offer the SHO engine in a wagon; maybe for the same reason they stopped making the Country Squire in '91. They missed the mark on both decisions, imho.

Agreed. But I suppose being as the sedan didn't sell as well as they wanted it to, they figured it would be a waste of time and money to do a wagon. Oh well.

Welcome DLC360, great to have another Ford guy here! Wagon looks great. My company used the taurus wagons for a few years and I loved them!

THANKS everyone for the great welcome. I'm glad to be in a forum of wagon owners, alot of cool classics BTW, who understand the work involved making a long roof a show stopper. Dont forget, this is a daily driver with almost 103K on the clock and still gets 29mpg on the highway.

I have had alot of thought about doing the SHO conversion, but the best I can find out so far there were only around 5000 DOHC wagons made in '03, so its kind rare as it is. The other reason, the SHO motors dont have enough HP differance for me to go through the cost to do it right.

I'll post some pics of the interior when I finish my next mod this weekend.

THANKS again for the warm welcome. :tiphat:

Holy smokes that is a VERY pretty car. I love that you drive it! And have done most of your mods using other Taurus wagons... that's kinda original...isn't it...

Looking forward to the interior pics.

Oh yeah welcome to the forum.

THANKS. The mods are done with almost ANY taurus parts, not just wagons. I also have sable only parts installed too. Thats the best thing with a taurus, so many interchangable parts.
    A couple examples'
    1996 SHO chrome rims
    1994 SHO automatic trans cooler
1997 taurus wagon tail light assembly
1998 MACH audio system, not available in an '03,
2000 taurus console mounted 6 CD changer,
2000 taurus floor shift console converted into a gauge console,
2001 DOHC intake (cosmeticly different from the 03)
2003 Sable Platnum Edition gauge cluster

The best part, all parts were found at local pull a part junk yards and recycled into a new life.

Most of my mods are done with almost any taurus or sable sedan and wagon parts. Thats the fun thing, so many interchangable parts from brands and years. All found in the local pull a part lots and recycled for a new life.
    A couple examples,
    1994 SHO automatic trans cooler
    1996 SHO chrome rims
    1998 SHO rocker covers
1998 taurus MACH stereo system (not available in an '03)
1999 wagon tail light assembly painted to match body color
2000 console mounted 6 CD changer
2001 floor shift console converted to a gauge panel / console
2002 DOHC intake manifold (cosmeticly different than an '03)
2003 sable Platnum Edition gauge cluster (very rare direct fit)

All this plus small little trim items that were year specific yet found a new home in the '03.

    BOSSS!!

WHat's cool is that it is modded nicely w/o going overboard, thus it may be widely appealing....hence the awards.
I could see the FO MO CO designers coming up with some thing like it, or saying, "why didn't we come up with something like that?"

LOL I was at 2 different shows at Ford dealers. Both times the salesmen came out ot see the show and I heard many times "If these would have looked this good new we could have sold alot more."
