There are a couple reasons that came to mind today of why I'm glad I found this place. You are not snobby. You like all wagons, be them older, or newer. I can't tell ya how many times I've joined a forum, where people would snub you because your car is not 'old enough.'
Also, you welcome all wagon lovers. I don't even have a wagon, and you still took me in like a three-legged dog that came up to your doorstep looking for shelter and a meal. You folks all seem to be class-acts. So far, anyway :rofl2:

Also, I wanna apologize. I missed a great photo opportunity today. Was coming home from the junkyard this afternoon, and saw a '73ish Olds wagon all dressed up as Ecto-1 from Ghostbuters. Was so cool! But I was driving, and couldn't snap a pic.
    Please forgive me

Anyway that's it. Hopefully sometime soon I will have another longroof to add to the forum.

All are welcome here who like wagons and wagon variants (such as sedan deliveries and hearses). I will admit that my preference is towards the older (pre 75) wagons, but I can appreciate the new wagons as well. Well, that is except VW Passatt wagons as I really don't like my own.
But you'll find this to be a friendly bunch of people and its unique in that all makes are represented.
I understand how you feel about being snubbed for being into cars that are "too new".
I left the Jalopy Journal (also known as the H.A.M.B-Hokey Ass Message Board), because my interest was mainly 50's and 60's cars, and they go on the attack when you post anything that goes beyond the 1964 model year.

On the other hand, you haven't been here long enough to see the reaction when someone new joins up in search of a wagon ...for a demolition derby. It can get pretty ugly. We get a little defensive about our wagons.

Well I can totally understand that. I see so many older cars, Cadillacs, Buick, Olds, ect that are turned into a demo-derby car just because the body is already dented. I would much rather buy that car myself, fix it, and have a nice summer cruiser. Trust me. I share the sentiment.

Dented Fenders, maybe that's why I and other fairly new members love this site. No matter where members are from or how old, young, or how long they've been here, they take us in as one of their own!
Believe me, I've gotten off topic once or twice...probably only once, and not been condemned for it. I really wasn't gonna stay because my wagon is more of a streetrod kustom thing, but other members don't care as long as it's a station wagon and that I love wagons.
In fact, I was only into older cars. My 1955 is too new to me. When we ride in it I forget it really is an old car.
Now I am drooling over those large late model wagons which I'd love to own. If I get a chance to borrow silverfox's wagon or a few others, I might forget to return them.
Yes, you older members are getting soft and we like it!:taz:

Bite your tongue wingnut! I was looking for a 1955 -57 sedan delivery when I got the wagon. Oddly, I found one a few months later after buying the wagon, a 1957 2door hardtop, and a 1949 Ford 4-door sedan...........Out of room and out of money. Staying on topic, I nearly put metal panels over my wagon windows to trasform it into a sedan delivery.
:disagree:A sedan delivery is just a wagon with two doors and less windows.
If i were to get off topic I'd write about my 1948 Chevy panel truck. That's more of a wagon than those hatchback, SUV wannabees of today! It's actually a full grown HHR.

AHHH, that's such a nice thing to say. :p We all seem to like this place and your right, I have next to no knowledge of cars and I was also made very welcome. I don't have alot of forum experience to compare this one to but being excepted on what is perdominantly a male type forum has been very rewarding in so many ways.

As for missing the pic opportunity...:49: since your still considered a newbie you are off the hook. But do it again and you will have to turn over your first wagon to one of the moderators for a random draw amongst the other members. :D Oh yeah that is the rule!

    Class-act...have you seen this thread...:biglaugh:

Yup Dented, it's a pritty good group, not just that we are a wagon family but it's pritty clear we are all car people in general and although we have our favorates we look at all cars wagon, 4 door hard top, forien, demistic 4 banger 2 doors etc as....thats nice, cool old ride, etc

Sheeze, I'm a Ford guy and it's only my wife that has one. Greater chance than none, I wouldn't have any wagons in the drive way if I stuck to one brand:rofl2:

Well, there is one thing. Here at the Station Wagon Forum, there is the "How many dogs can you fit in the back" thing.

This picture is actually my nephew's GMC Yukon suv, so its not really a wagon picture. But you get the idea. It was taken during a rest stop on their way from Florida to visit me in Virginia last July. Five adults (including my niece who was 8 months pregnant at the time) along with these five dogs.

Clockwise from the little dog on top: Brian, Sadie, Indiana, Lani, and Toby. Dogs belonging to my niece and her husband, my nephew and his wife, and my brother and his wife. I don't currently have a dog.
