My name is Greg and I am glad I found this site as I have had an interest in Wagons and owned a few over the years. I'm 62 and have always loved wagons even when I was in my 20's when everyone was into Muscle Cars which I love as well. I do not currently own a wagon bu am always looking and perusing the classifieds on this site it looks like I may find one.
Well a howdy-do and a welcome to you! I am also currently a wagon-less wagonite. I just joined here the other day, myself, and so far this place seems excellent. Great folks, great cars, and a great atmosphere. Hope you enjoy it here, too
Welcome sir. Hey.. the great thing about this site is you don't need to own.. you just need the interest. However, that being said.. your mouth will start watering with all the wonderful rides you see on this website that before long you will definitely be an owner. My trouble is choosing! There are so many different makes and models.. Be sure to let us know WHEN you get yourself one and include pics!
Unfortunately... unlike collecting say VW Beetles where you could fit 4 in the shop no problemo.. you are limited. Nice thing about having an interest in wagons.. they can still be obtained on the cheap!
That, too, is easy. Buy a few hundred acres of crap land to park them on. Get some used industrial shelving if you need to stack them two or three high.
Welcome aboard, wagonmaster49. Have you looked at this one? http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17174 95 Roadmaster, posted by a group member....
to the forum. Buying wagons and storing them is not the problem for some of us. Having time and money to work on them is! But don't let that stop you from grabbing a few and having a good time. You could rent them out as overnite cottages or doghouses for other wagon owners who are having wife problems from owning too many of their own.
Welcome Wagonmaster49 and as cat said I am one who bought a wagon going on a year ago but haven't had the extra funds to get her going yet but she is sitting here waiting on me, hopefully this year...and I found mine when I wasn't really looking so it will appear when you least expect it.
I got my wagon when hubby got me this laptop...yeah it's ALL his fault. He got this laptop for my B-day, April 2010. I was checking out old cars on Kijiji one night and BAM there she was! I was absolutely captivated. By the end of May she was home in my driveway. Like they say, you just don't know when your wagon will present itself. Keep looking you'll find each other. AHHHH wagon love... OOOPS almost forgot... Welcome to the forums
Greg , Be sure to let us know WHEN you get yourself one and include pics! also what part of the contry are ya from ?
Member History I have been rebuilding cars beginning in the early 60's. My 1st car was a 57 Chevy 2dr HT 327/365 HP 4 sp. I had to build everything back then. It ran in the high 12's in the 1/4. When I got married in 1967 I got my 1st wagon. It was a 63 Chevy Impala 283 2spd auto black. My wife's family always had wagons. I got hooked. Been thur 69 Pont, 66 Chevy Impala, 64 Ford wagon, 86 Ford VC wagons, 76-78 GMC Sub 3/4 Ton big blocks, All used to pull RV's and hauling parts for rebuilding 55-57 Chevys, 64 & 70 Chevelle, and 1941 Oldsmobile's. That brings me to today. About 18 months ago I ran across a 1993 Caprice Wagon w/ LT1 engine, trailer package, and all. Red in color with 140M on the OD. I can not believe how fast the LT1 makes the wagon run. I love it. Only problem is the Speedo display is out which I have found a replacement. When the weather breaks I will replace the cluster. I was a police officer in St. Louis, MO for 30 years before retiring with a disability. Now I need to watch what car work I do. I'm just a old Hot Rodder at heart and yes I did give breaks to kids if they were not to wild. I still love to hear the sound of a big block Chevy making the noise that it can only make.
Welcome! I hope you fill your garage soon. Wait, do Amuricens say garage, shed, carport, vehicle hole or wat?
