You know, I saw an HHR that was a panel wagon; just a sliding cargo door on the side..solid with no windows...it looked kinda cool. Better than PT's....

;) Yea the red one I drooled all over looked great. Even the side door had no handles so looked like a solid panel. Double the fuel milage as my truck. But payments, which I don't have! Takes a lot of fuel savings to make up for payments. Besides can't haul more than two people and very little else in a HHR panel.

LOL!!! I wish!! I would love to breathe some fire into that baby. Even with a two barrel that engine is gonna be TORQUEY!!!!!!!!!

You will feel it crack free. If you have had MMO is this long, I would not worry about the internals. Most likely it is a line of rust around the top rings. As soon as it is free, I would try the starter.

I would have gas in the carb. If possible, I would prime the engine. SHOULD be ok with out a prime, but if you are gonna do it, might as well do it right. Change the oil and add some engine flush with new filter. You will be surprised how well they start and run after sitting for so long.!!!

Keep us posted. Videos are nice!!!!

I agree with cats... reply and would personally pull the heads and pan for a better look. But for a do or die attempt put a old tire on the rear and try to push start it it should either brake loose ot just break either way you are ready for the next step.

67FuryLR. No way to get at that crank pulley bolt from the top! Floor jack that puppy from the "K" Member then jack stand it at the stub frame rails. The pulley nut should be 1 1/8th". Add a 3" or 4" extension onto that and add the cheater pipe onto that. Trust me, It'll come around. :Welcome: to the farm BTW:evilsmile: Jer

Thanks...that's my next plan of action on Saturday..... the tranny cooling lines are pretty close together, but I may get a small shove on the cheater bar between them. Thanks for advice!

Never thought of pushing it! That would be brutal....couldn't bear the sounds of my beloved 440 breaking apart!

This one has a 4bbl..... and it's pretty crusty looking! I already changed the oill/filter after dumping cleaner through it. I was pretty optomistic that it was going to turn over... but my pessimistic side won out :-( If I can just get it spinning around, I can graduate to the next step: points, plugs, dist. cap, rebuild carb, etc.
I'll keep you posted! Thanks for help...

If its that hard to turn, it might be easier to pull the motor and install new bearings and rings before you do some serious damage.

Or I've also heard pouring Coke in each cylinder and letting it sit for a couple of days will break a stuck motor loose. I've never tried it.
