Went up to the Turkey Rod Run last weekend In Daytona Beach - about 3 hours north of me. I can see why it is a 4 day show, I tried to do it in one day and it's really not possible. It's held in the infield of the Speedway and there was an estimated 5000 cars there. Add to that about 70 rows of vendor/swap meet spaces and it can be quite overwhelming, but in a good way. Here are a few of the wagons I saw. I'd put on more but can't figure out how to do an album.
My friend and I went Saturday and wore ourselves out before we could see everything. We didn't get a chance to look at the cars that were for sale. I love seeing the less popular cars instead of the usual Camaros, Chevelles, Mustangs, etc. They're having a spring show in March. I'm thinking of camping out in the back of the wagon next time I go so I can hit the show for two or three days.
got some more pistriping while i was there to cover up this years road rash ill take some pics and post tomm
Go to Daytona early Thursday morning and stay thru Sunday. Usually only a quick walk thru on Sunday to hit a few sales. Even better to get there Wednesday to be at the speedway early Thursday and early every morning. Same with the Spring show. Give yourself plenty of time. Take both T-shirts and heavy coats. Don't forget comfortable shoes, sunblock, and money! No respectable car guy goes without a camera!
I knew there were tons of wagons out there..........but since joining this forum, it is so cool to see so many of the people in here to show off theirs...........love it........
