That tailgate looks really solid. Can I have it? Just kidding. I already know the answer. Definitely a nice find. Looks like a keeper.
I do hope you find some correct 67 wheel covers to replace the 73 Valiant wheel covers on it. I do like the luggage rack and the white walls. Mine has neither. I have the correct 67 only dog dish hub caps on mine, but I have a set of 67 Belvedere full wheel covers I will be putting on in the spring.
You mentioned the Maaco paint, but depending on the Maaco you go to and what level of quality you choose, a Maaco paint job can look halfway decent. I needed a new paint job on my Coronet hardtop but didn't want to spend alot of money on a high quality paint job since the car sits outside. My local Maaco didn't do half bad. The car won't win any trophies, but everyone seems shocked that its a Maaco job cause it does look pretty good. And Maaco had the ability to match up most (but not quite all) the 1967 Mopar colors. I plan on taking my wagon to Maaco at some point in the next year or two. Haven't decided yet if I will keep it white or go black or midnight blue metallic. My 67 Belvedere wagon has blue interior which kind of limits my choices.
If you decide to repaint your 67 wagon, you might consider going with the rarely seen 67 Medium Tan Metallic color or the equally rare (67 only color) Medium Copper Metallic (depending on interior color). I personally like both alot better than the 67 gold metallic color that is more commonly seen.

Heres my Maaco painted 67 Coronet

It has a tan interior, and is in good condition except for the padded dash so either color you suggested would be good. Having communicated with many people on different forums I also have heard some good things about macco and it seems like its a matter of which shop you go to as well as the paint package you select. Not knocking macco that is about the only commercial painter I could afford.
A question about the tailgate does drop down or open as a door also.

In 68, the Belvedere wagon tailgate swung open like or door and swung down. But, in 67, it just drops down like a regular tailgate.

    Wow! :)

Love to see pics under the hood of your leaning tower of power.

    I'm quite a "/6" fan myself, have a 225 w/ 904 torqueflite in my '73 Gold Duster.

Nice Coronet Jim! Love that color and I agree, Medium Copper Metallic!
The gold on the car is a very nice hue, especially when the sun hits it but the copper has such a nice appeal. I'd be very tempted to go with the saphire on your car, even with the tan interior.

Good score and what a clean machine. Gonna keep the slant or make it a muscle wagon? Either way you win really.

Nice! Word of advice...be nice to that hand crank for the rear window. They are NOT easy to find. Well, they aren't for my pontiac anyway...

Pic below but maybe you help id as its not the original engine. I was able to find a match for the casting #'s on the head "4104362" and that shows to be a 78-80 head I guess the swapped the whole engine but not sure so I found some numbers on the block by the alt (2nd photo)

Great find, I own a '66 Belvedere II wagon, and am planning on bringing it out of storage (in Arkansas) so I can work on it at a buddie's shop near my house. Congrats!

Hey Arvid, I still need that tailgate if I can ever figure out a way to get it to Virginia.

I am coming out to WV in December to take pics of that Challenger that is being restored, so I was going to bring it to your place, have you buy me a cup of coffee, and then I was going to head back to Chicago :thumbs2:

    That sound like a plan?

Sounds like a plan. I'll send you a PM so I don't hijack this thread any longer.
