Fantastic job SavoyPlaza! I remember seeing it on the Forward Look Forum and thinking
what a pity about its appearance. Soooo glad you brought it back to a dignified, proper life.
Now, it turns heads rather than turning stomachs, and everyone can see its inherent beauty.

SavoyPlaza, outstanding job on that car, gutsy call on color, definitely works! Thanks for the pics!

Where did it come from i was surprised to see how clean it was with the paint removed.

    What was the original color?

Just looked at the seats again they look like 300m seats without the headrests.

I'd leave them and match the rear.

Well... it looks like I'm in the minority here in the fact that I thought it looked kinda cool with the, how shall I put it, "alternative" paint job.

However, I do agree that she is truly stunning after your TLC! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

That is a 100% improvement over that tacky orange and purple! Way to go!

That is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect color choice, too. The only other colors I'd consider for a '61 like that would be a heavy metallic silver or copper or a really clean bright white. The seafoam green is perfect. Someday I want to have a '57-'58 or '60 Ford wagon in that color inside and out with matching steel wheels and wide whites and tiny hubcaps. A 223 with a T-85 (with overdrive of course) and 3.50 rear axle ratio will work.

Seafoam green? I'll admit this wagon is beautiful that color. Much better than the colors when you got it! But I had two 50's Buicks, one a 50 and 53, and my 1955 Chevy wagon were seafoam green.............. I thought they were ugly. However I bought each one and repainted them when I got time and money. Amazing what different body styles and a few years of growing will do to paint colors. Yep, I do like it on that wagon.:)

Thank you for all the kind words, I was very fortunate to have such a rust-free body to start with. I have yet to make any progress with the interior, I'm mainly waiting for some pieces from SMS auto fabrics to begin that work.

Meanwhile, I've found yet another 2-door wagon, and this will be made into more of a cruiser. I'll post more on this one later, when I have the chance to get started with it. (Which at this rate maybe after Christmas! :))

Thanks again for the positive remarks!
