X2 on fuel delivery, could be a torn accelerator pump diaphragm in the carb

Seems like someone posted something on here about a similar problem and the correction was replacing an old portion of the rubber fuel line. It was being collapsed by suction at higher rpms.

I am sorry I do not know which post it was, but it made sense.

i replaced the old two barrel carb with an edelbrock endrashine 600cfm 4 barrel... i think i go ahead and replace the fuel pump with the matching edelbrock fuel pump and see where that takes me.

I would look for a vacuum leak or broken / cracked vacuum hose.

---------Yes, that and check those rubber fuel lines. Also go ahead and replace the fuel pump. All this narrows the problem down. If the carb and carb gaskets are okay, one of those lines is most likely leaking or closing under load.

I'd check the float level. The float could even be stuck.
Sounds like the bowl is draining then filling.

Have you tried changing the accelerator pump linkage position? I believe there are three different positions you can adjust the linkage to to get more or less of an initial shot. Might be worth a shot if the carb is otherwise in good shape.
