6.0 V8 and Rear Wheel Drive, based on the Pontiac G8/Holden Commadore. First batches are hitting the Chevy dealers now. Watch your rear view mirrors. Here's a regular cop car: And the "detective's car" package. I would SO rock this one! Imagine a set of Camaro SS wheels on that... Do. Want.
Caprice SS video....from the middle east. Them yelling at the end is classic. Ha! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYWje0mrf2c&feature=related
I think this'll put Ford out of the Fleet Market, in the way Chevy's been just on the fringe since 1996.
So Chevy comes back with a V-8 rear wheel drive Caprice immediately after Ford discontinues the Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car. Looks like GM won't have any competition since the Caprice will be the only offering of its kind. Good thinking, Fomoco, real good.
And if you're able to find a really cooperative dealer, you might be able to put one in your driveway. It's already been done. (I believe there's a thread on GM Inside News about it...)
Yup, I read somewhere that Crown Vic sales have soared this year with police fleet buyers as they snap up the last remaining rear drive models before they're gone. Chevy has a great opportunity to re enter the police market and dominate over the Ford FWD offering. Then there's still the Dodge Charger out there too though.
The car doesn't do a thing for me...and I think this pic with the ugly dark grey cloud above hints at it's future........It's sunny every where else.....on a clear day you can see General Motors.
That blue detective pkg car is sitting at a dealer about 20 minutes from me. I'll have to start watching for them on the roads around here.
If you meet a girl who has very plain looks, but she turns out to be charming flirtatious, and then the best piece of ass you,ve ever had,.do you still go out with her?? or just walk away and says she's ugly,.or maybe you just never gave a chance to show you anything,.even tho she was making some really sexy noises,. 284kmh, makes the car a whole lot more sexy to me,. Nick
I don't think anyone will argue that the car isn't a very capable performer. What stings is knowing that the G8 was probably one of the best all around cars GM ever produced then it and all of Pontiac gets axed. Then the same car comes back as a stodgy looking, fleet-only offering. What's up with this fleet-only crap anyway. Why does the Middle East & Australia get to have these RWD machines? I suspect the looming, tougher CAFE regulations have GM (& the others) by the balls. Gotta love the EPA...
