Another one comes back to life with a face lift. 1957 Chevy 210 2 door Handyman original 265 V8 three on the tree with overdrive. She spent a lot of time in New Mexico and originally from CA. An off frame rotisserie restoration was done with no expense spared. Your comments are welcomed lets keep the wagons rolling.

    Excited to show it!

We are just getting our feet wet with this one. It has been restored beautifully and very little needs to be added. Can't wait to come out for some shows....in nice weather!

There were less Nomads made than 210 Handyman wagons. But the Handyman wagon was used and abused more. They were used for business, stock cars and race cars. So less are still around today. That should make them rarer than the Nomads. I answered this in what I thought was the poll section. Sorry!

Turned out nice. Got any " before " pics? I would wonder if that long roof was hotrodded in its previous life.

    Welcome from Nova Scotia, Canada

Welcome Rick and Gale, glad you found your way to The Station Wagon Forum. I will be excited also when my wagon hits the streets. Did you have your wagon restored or has it just recently followed you home? They do that you know.
Either way, it looks like it is in amazing condition, you should be excited and proud to show her/him off. Has she/he been formally named? Is there any family history or does this wagon start it's history with you, right now?
Would love to hear more about your car and resto pics if you have them. Gale I hope your not shy and don't think this place is just for the guys. It's not! Well, I keep sticking my nose in and they have been more then welcoming. There are a few car gals here, love to here from you as well as Rick.
We look forward to somemore stories and hope to see you around the forum.
    :Welcome:

Just a little history on this great vehicle

    Silverfox,
Guess what Gale is the driver. I have a real 'keeper'. She is the best. We have been married for 33 years and we get it. I just got up from my nap and she just walked in. She is all smiles saying "what do you mean they are asking about me?". Let me back up a little in Sept of 2010 she wanted me to have my dream boat, a 1956 Chris Craft Continental. We found one in Idaho and had it shipped to NC. Come to find out he played bumper cars with a Jersey wall and the boat came off the trailer in South Dakota, he didn't tell the broker or myself. He showed up at 10:00pm several days later. It was really messed up, about 6 holes in the bottom and enough wood sections broken that I'd have enough toothpicks for 10 lifetimes. The boat was repaired by Peter Fish, in upstate NY and was completed in Feb. 2011. We were on a vacation (from last year's vacation days!) when we got the call that it was done... bitter sweet, I had had a stoke the previous day while on vacation, and ended up in the hospital for 30 days. In July my progress was not great but good. We decided a car would be a better option. So I went looking and ended up with a trade for the boat. Some say one boat for another. She is a great woman, she says "anything I want" and she is a great parts finder. We are building a 34 Ford 5 window coupe with a vintage Blown Hemi with Zoomies. She gets the gearhead thing. Over the years when space was a issue she made space. We had to kick her 1997 SL 500 to the curb. O.K., so Rick is tired of typing and wanted to give me an opportunity for putting my 2 cents in. He is keeping really upbeat, and this new - old car is very exciting. The gentleman that restored it did a fantastic job. He had previously sold his old woodie boat (a different model but similar to ours) and was interested in this trade. We happened to be going up to pick up the boat that week and on the way back stopped at the eastern shore, at their home and made the swap. It was fun driving the SNAZZY looking 2-door down 13S through the Chesapeake Tunnel, (most miles ever put on the car since it's restoration) and on through VA Beach to NC. We got lots and lots of thumbs up and every stop at the gas station became a mini-get-together with all the interest. He is threatening to buy me a poodle skirt and bobby socks now....NUH UH, I was always in the 'greaser's' group. HEE HEE :) The first car I drove was a Pontiac GTO - Dark Green, not mine, but got to run it in a parking lot when I was 15!!! Fun

-----:(-rickandgale you should be ashamed. Buying a perfectly good survivor and then having it restored. That interior was nearly perfect. :slap: However the finished wagon is absolutely beautiful.
