    No pics

No boring pics today, ran the rear brake line from the block on the rear axle. Ran it up the fire wall and stopped there because I dont have the front brake lines for right and left front.
I did fab a couple of lines to bench bleed the master, I did install the master and fabbed up a small lone to the distribution block. FOr now I have installed a dual bowl master for drum front and rear.

I also installed the black fuel log on the carb and ran the fuel line form the fuel pump to the fuel log. Button up a few minor things and started the install of the rear electric window, basically bolted it up and stopped cause I need some weatherstripping..........lol

    Have a great weekend, Ryan

    Boring pics yea!

I do have boring pics today, and they are just that..........boring. I try to capture some aspect of the task for the day each Friday and keep them for my build pics. So today I made the pre bent lines (front) for a 65 66 mustang work on the wagon. So today we installed those lines, installed the distribution block with brake light switch, and ran a union from the long brake line I ran last week up to the curly Q line that went into master.

I learned a few thing today....I learned how to and why you bend the circles in the brake lines of off the master. One is that it helps with vibration and it gives the line a bit of adjust ability. I also used a vacuum assisted brake bleeder (using a compressor and air gun). I also learned that my double flaring skills got better as I moved forward (the first ones I did leaked, lol)

We also stabbed the distributor in today, and I almost have the fuel lines completed. woo hoo..

Well enjoy the boring pics and have a great weekend, it was 110 at the shop today and will be as hot tomorrow, we are goin to the beach tomorrow wooo hoo, enjoy. Ryan

    Friday report minus pics

Today was kind of an off day, I worked about an hour on trying to get the fancy dancy black anodized fuel end pieces onto a piece of hose, (Cloth covered, braided hose). Then I ran alll the wires for the temp gauge and the oil pressure gauge through the firewall.

Since I have an MSD ignition I had to cut the huge pink resistor wire from the ignition and run a new 12 gauge from the MSD to ignition. That was about it as we left early to go to the car show/cruise night in Yucaipa, killer show bout 250 cars!!!! Weather was fantastic.

I have one more Friday then off for 2 weeks out of town for work, so while I am away my buddy will have the car towed to the trans shop to have the shifter arm changed to a shift column linkage, (It was a floor shifter in mustang) . As soon as she is done at the trans shop it is on to the exhaust guy for dual exhaust then back to the shop. Hope to try to start her by the end of October????

Oh yeah I took my 34 pieces of Aluminum trim from the wagon to a professional to get his opinion on how to repair the dented pieces. He said he could fix all of them but told me his "fixed pieces" would look so much better than the pieces i thought were "finished" that it would not look good...........................so he took all the pieces off my hands and is going to re-do all of my work.............grand total $$525

O well its only money. I will take pics when they are done.

Well everyone have a great weekend enjoy the extension, see you in Temecula tomorrow at Cars and Cosi? whatever that is? See u there

    Couple pics

Again kind of a slow Friday, I will be away for 2 weeks so I wanted to get "Kathy" ready to get some things done at the trans shop and the exhaust installed. I mocked installed the radiator and the trans cooler so that I could see how big the spacer would need to be for the fan.
I also used my last bit of Poly Armour 5/16 line to run the return line for the trans cooler.
I painted the oil filler cap black, oooooow I know its not much but something LOL.

I also ran the lines for the ignition (Had to get rid of the resistor wire from early Fords so I could get the MSD 12 volts like it likes. I also ran the mechanical line for the oil pressure and the volt meter, I went old School Moon gauges, see pics.

Next week Kathy goes in to have the valve body flipped so the floor shifter arm will work with the column shift linkage then she will be towed to Riverside carb and electric to have dual exhaust installed, yee haw!! I cant wait to get back from training so I can maybe fire her up then get to the cosmetics!!! Have a great weekend. Enjoy the pics

Here is the rad and trans cooler
    [IMG]
Used a graduated bit to get the holes just right for the trans cooler hoses

THe moon gauged I picked for just under the ashtray

Hopefully everything is capped off (Carb) and tightened up for the tow truck ride to trans n exhaust.

Hard to tell, but do you have a grommet where the hose passes thru your radiator core support? Might save you some problems down the road.

    gromet

I didnt really want to put one in (looks Cleaner), the hose will never move so I should be OK but I may use one in the end to avoid any possible probelm like you said, good catch!!

I'd think they grill would cover it up enough to where no one but you would ever notice it. But you are right, as long is the hose doesn't flex or move while driving down the road it should be fine.

    Friday update with pics yeah!

Well I have been in San Luis Obispo for 2 weeks so no work on "Kathy". This was the first Friday in a while. While I was away the guys at the shop had Kathy towed to the trans shop to flip the something or other? Valve body I think so the column linkage would work, and also to the exhaust shop for "duals"

I had grand plans today as i hadnt been to the shop in a while, I was hoping to get the fan and shroud on, run the upper and lower house, finish the wiring on the MSD ready to run, put in some more heat insulation in the interior on the firewall, install the horns yada yada yada.

So i started with the fan n such, wow it took me quite a while to put on and take off spacers to check their compatibility with the stock style 6 blade mustang fan and metal shroud. I ended using mounts for a 2 row radiator and got that part done after 12, whew!!!!!!

I then ran the ground and the ignition and the coil wires to complete the electronic ignition, I put on upper lower and by-pass hoses, then I seperated the plug wires with a trick I saw on Hot Rod TV using zip ties, I will try to get a close up next time.

I helped one of the guys with his car for a little bit then I had to leave just a bit early to pick up the mustang, (new front tires and alignment)

I will be in Vegas next Friday but will work on Kathy on Monday, Holiday for us govt workers!!! Everyone have a great weekend, Ryan

Don't you love it when you actually accomplish all the things you want to get done in one day.
That MSD set up looks slick and those pipes look really professional.
It's turning out great. I love how you guys work together and help each other out.
