Yes he is a local guy. I would still rather be in the car seeing as how I am not a dealer and even though he seems like a trustworthy individual, I don't really trust anybody in this circumstance. If something where to happen to this car before I sold it my wife and I would be screwed...
If you feel more comfortable then jump in the back and tell the guy if he has questions just ask. But, PLEASE, don't talk to him while he is testing the car. Sit quietly.
They decided to get something else. At least they were descent enough to call me and tell me. Well, back to waiting.
Don't get discouraged, that was only the first look/looker.... It's taken me a bit of time in the past to flip a car. Patience youg grass hopper
rewrite Listed below is the ad for my kia. How would you write it differently? I have a silver '03 Optima with a grey interior. It has a 4 cylinder DOHC engine and an automatic transmission with sports mode which allows you to switch into manual any time. I'm asking $4200 OBO. 143,000 miles. The repair/maintenance that have been done are: New windshield new drive axles new starter fuel line flush new belts several exterior bulbs are new several new fuses all new tires as of a year ago August new sparkplugs tune up oil change/ new filter transmission fluid change/ new filter new wiper blades new power steering high pressure line front end has been releveled motor mounts fixed new engine air filter new gas cap new thermostat new radiator cap radiator flush with new fluid put in The only thing left is the air conditioning needs to be recharged. And the locks will lock electrically but have to be unlocked manually. It is surprisingly a tough car. It was able to handle the blizzard we had last winter really well. It was not damaged by the tornado. The Optimas came with a premium sound system. The car has an FM radio adapter that allows you to plug in other devices and listen to them through the car. The car has a good spare and a jack and tire changing tools. I can be reached at (417)396-6665. Please no calls after midnight or before noon. Thank you. No trades except maybe a 1980's station wagon that is in GOOD or EXCELLENT condition that can be used as part of payment.
I like that you added the trade and detailed it will be "part" of the payment. This looks like a good add. A lot of new stuff. If everything looks good just put some pictures up of all the clean stuff. If someone is looking for a cheap car, then they should be interested in this. All of the new parts get very pricey.
I would simplify it some. Delete fuses since you'll scare people away fearing an electrical nightmare. Bulbs don't need mention either. If I were writing the ad I would tweak it a bit. For me year old tires could have 100,000 miles on them LOL better to not mention year old and do miles instead. Also front end re-leveled is scary I would just say it was aligned when the tires were replaced. All those services ie fuel flush, oil change, trans service, antifreeze service, wiper blades, etc. I would group those together under something like "Services recently completed for buyer peace of mind" or similar. Doing so would make it seem more like you just went through the car and brought it to 100% for sale with preventative maintenance. Random order as you have it makes me wary of the add. Things done prior to 6 months ago I would just list the services done at XXX,XXX miles and it's ok to just group them together at a fudged mileage as long as they're somewhat close. Then I would list the "Parts replaced within the last year" and list the non service related stuff like axles, motor mount, steering hose etc. Other than needing some tweaking it looks like a good start. Good luck
Thanks for the help. I won't be able to edit it until after 4 PM today but I will get on that then. I am always open to suggestions and advice.
