Within the next couple of days I am going to check out and drive a Bobcat woody? I laugh as I write this because the car cracks me up. No offense to Bobcat owners. I have seen the car and looked over the outside and interior in some detail and would rate it as in very rare condition. I was caught so off guard by the vehicle that I didn't think to take pictures for the board, but will. It is a dark orange/light brown with wood grain and a dark "yellowish" vinyl interior. I could see that the car was an automatic. I was told it is for sale though the owner was not available at the time. I feel it is my duty as a wagon guy to drive it and make an offer. Is anyone familiar with these or ever see them around? The only place I think I may have ever laid eyes on one was a Mercury ad in a magazine in the 70's. I apologize for not waiting until I had photos but this car is a riot! Thanks Rodney.

I remember seeing them back home in rural Iowa back in the day.

It's a Pinto with Mercury styling. I learned how to drive in a Pinto Wagon and later owned one briefly but it had too much rust. They are fun to drive but really aren't that great on gas as you would think they would be.

A friend of mine talks about a Pinto he had 20 years ago, all the time. He hated the car, and in the end just was trying to blow the motor and couldn't do it. He said no matter how much he pounded it, the car just kept going.

I prefer the Pinto's from 1970-73, before the big bumpers. Also the front end styling was "right". The Bobcats were a little over the top with the front ends but are so cool. Picture a luxury Pinto. The Mercury version is just a little fancier. I think it was 1975 that Mercury got the Bobcat.

I saw an older guy pull into a gas station just yesterday in what appeared to be a daily driver Pinto. Haven't seen one on the road in ages.
