Can I fit 255/60R15 all the way around on my Wagon?
I want to get the widest on it I can. I have a set of Ansen Sprints that are 15X7s and I believe the backspacing is 3 inches, but I am not sure, yet.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Please post any pics of your cars that you have 15 inch wheels and wide tires all around.

They will definitely fit the back, might be a little tight on the front. Your wheels are also a problem. The 3" backspacing puts the tires too far to the outside of the wheel well, compounding the fitment problem. Look for wheels with as close to zero offset as possible. For a 15x7 wheel, that would mean a backspacing in the 3.75" to 4" range. You might want to consider 245/60-15s for the front.

    Hi Matt,

Pics are of my lowered 71 Monte, 15x8 rally's all around, 235-60 front 245-60 rear. SOme rubbing in the front with passengers, almost no rubbing in back at all. 245-60's do rub on the front right badly (due to body not being straight on the frame from day one!), 255-60's would rub some in back due to formal wheel well.

Car has steel inner fenders in front, which I have been told have a different shape than the plastic ones (plastic designed to fit 15" wheels for Montes and Chevelle SS). Don't know the correctness of this, but what I have been told. Rears wells of a Monte are "formal outline" which is lower than a standard Chevelle, so rears are tighter than your wagon. Car is low enough in front that I have to lift it to get a jack under the skid plate. Urethane suspension bushings and KYB's all around

My wagon will probably get a similar tire/wheel setup to this and I am not worried about fit. My Montes have run these tire/wheel sizes for over 25 years with no issues. 15x7 wheels will pull 255 tires in somewhat on the side walls, which may help with side wall rubbing.

    Best,
    Tom

Thanks for that info Tom. This whole thread is really helping me out. If I get a hold of a set of 15x8 ralleys. I may drop the Ansens.

BTW Tom. That is one sweet and bad ass looking Monte. Tough looking stance. It just gave me an idea for a model to build. :p

Here is a pic of my Ansens. I painted them because they all looked like some nutjob took a claw hammer to them. The stripe was hand done by a pin striper guy I know. It is a little more electric blue looking then in this pic. If any of you are familiar with One Shot pinstripe paint. the color is called Process Blue.

Tom, I know that this is a shameless hi-jack but Sunday the 21st is the "Thunder on the Mountain" Show in Tehachapi. 300 cars. I'm going but it's only an hour from my house.

Matt, Those Ansens look fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen them painted before but they look great! Nice job. Now I'm thinking a like paint job on my 10 holes on the Ranger would look good painted that way. The clear on mine are all checked and looking poorly.

    tbirdsps,
It is easy. You prep the wheels just like any body panel. I used body filler on the deep knocks from the hammer. I used a high quality epoxy primer. I wet sanded and all of the usally paint prep. The wheels were then shot with PPG black toner base coat and clear coat.
