I'm wondering how many "Ventura" wagons were built in 1970? Might be kinda rare?

We had a wagon like that when I was a kid, was full size Pontiac, not sure of the year, 70, 71,72 maybe.

Was about 2 weeks old and towed a camper to Florida, it overheated. Next trip to South Carolina, a couple months later, the back axle ran out, few months later full throttle accel onto interstate towing camper, the motor mount broke sending the engine and fan up thru the hood.

When the warranty rn out, my dad traded it for a 74 caprice convertable,

with 3 boys it was a tough transition from a spacious wagon to a cramped convertable back seat, but the coolness of the 'vert made up for it.

Most station wagons are tough. At least the older ones were-and are. Roundhouse, your dad must have gotten one of those Lemon things. Wagons are made for towing campers, kids, and dogs. Altho Chevy convertibles are also kool! Keep those Pontiac wagons on the road.:taz:

I saved this wagon because they are RARE ( Pontiac anyway) I haven't seen one in years! Even in California where I live.. I'm putting it away for the winter because I need to work on a 68 Coronet my son ( he's 10)wants us to drive to HAN next year. I think these old wagon are becoming popular. I call these cars that are odd like my 61 Rambler convt or the 63 Buick Special Orphan cars.I like to drive cars that are hard to find ( and so are the parts).because I like talking to all the folks that stop and look at these kind of cars. They need to be saved from the scrappers. They will never make another big wagon like these again! I'm just doing my part!! Maybe your dad's wagon was built on a Friday LOL. Carry on folks save all these wagons you can... SEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAAAA Bob

Check it out. They are in Twenty Nine Palms, CA. I don't know what part of CA you are but they are worth a try. They even have a 1970 Pontiac Wagon. But don't take the roof rack I am going to look at it this week. I need one and I hope it will fit.

    BTW, welcome. Pontiacs are beautiful.

Yeah no problem. I will try to remember to bring my camera. I will take pictures for you. As far as radio goes. Do you want to restore this to original or is it ok if I see a different year? If you want you can PM me your number and I can try to take pictures with my phone and send it to you with the pricing.

I like the way you work!!

I've put many items away in my garage or shop only to claim that I've owned them for years when the wife discovers them. I've yet to try to hide an entire car.
